I haven't seen Deader and Hellworld yet, video rental stores in my city won't carry it (lol, they must truly suck) and i'm not paying the 29.99 price tag electronics stores charge for them.

I think there are two types of fans for the Hellrasiser series. There are those who like the psychological ones where the people creates their own hells and there are those that like Pinhead as a hack'n'slash villain. I appreciate both, but I prefer the latter. That's why I thought 2 and 3 were the best in the series. I can see why some hated 3, but I actually found it to be quite engaging and more cerebral (for horror) than the previous two. Here's mine in order. Keep in mind, I have only seen 6, 7 and 8 once.
1 - Hellraiser: Hellbound
2 - Hellraiser: Hell on Earth
3 - Hellraiser
4 - Hellraiser: Bloodlines (sorry, but I enjoy this)
5 - Hellraiser: Inferno (actually an underrated addition to the series. I used to hate it, but I watched it again and I was pleased)
6 - Hellraiser: Hellseeker (meh)
7 - Hellraiser: Hellworld (it didn't make much sense, but better than Deader IMO)
8 - Hellraiser: Deader (Hellworld just felt like a better movie all around. This movie was worthless and sad)

People either like one of the two types of hellraiser movies. and as you i like both types.
I actually enjoyed all of the movies except 7, which I havent seen.
sometimes i want to see pinhead tear some people up, like in part 3. but sometimes i like the ones like Inferno when you are going "what in the heck is going on here!?!?!"
Well we know why pinhead was in part 3 alot, but you could tie it into the storyline. Since hellraiser 1-3 were pretty much direct sequels. Pinhead was pretty dang mad in hellraiser 3, his cenobites were killed, Dr Channard wasnt phased by his hooks and chains and he then sliced his throat, but escaped death and ended up in a statue... so Pinhead was ticked off, thats why he was wrecking so much havoc, and thats why he made so many new cenobites (he didnt have any) and thats why the man who was Pinhead knew he had to come back from wherever he was, and stop him.

Yes, in exact order of release from best to worst. I love the first 2, 3 and 4 are O.K., but it's just downhill from there. I rented Hellworld the other night and it was so bad I wanted to go kill people. I'm also mad at Clive Barker, for letting this happen to his series, the selfish english prick.

The last 4 hellraiser films i think are absolute garbage, and i discredit them to being a part of the franchisee. Terrible made films, with hardly and pinhead footage, mabye 5 minutes total in all 4 films; and no cenobites what so ever. *beep* Garbage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After a fantastic and very impressif Deader, i hardly believe that Bota made with Hellworld the copie of the worst horror movie I ever saw "Valentine" that is also from him, I tought that after things like Deadrer and Hellseeker he learned alot but he dissaponted me so much there, who the hell wrote this retarted script, let him never right again for hellraiser again please. Lett him go write a new season for buffy it will fit him perfectly.
Oh and for the nr 1 (Deader) I am very impressed by the scene of the dead girl found in the bathroom, the scene with the knife in her back and I liked alot the background story, trying to use hell to other advantages, with a logical ending where noone wins! That's where Hellworld failed too letting the happy end of the stupid blond alive.
