Hands down. Hallie Berry can't act. I can't believe Jr. and Cruz signed onto this POS movie. The plot was unoriginal, predictable as hell, and disgusting to the core. Who in their right mind would make up a story like this...? Tourturing and raping underage girls in the basement?? My god, it's like Satan's wet-dream and get the director's rocks off kinda thing. This movie was more satanic than the Omen. Raping women in their cell at a mental hospital?? My god, this movie sucked so bad.
I only bought it cuz it was a dual dvd with Queen of the Damned. Good music btw and an insult to even have them touching in the same case.

Satanic? Do you know real world? Pedophiles are real, they are the real evil.
I thought you may be offended by the ghost isues, But how can someone talk about a character like "Satan" and be angry because there's psycho pedophiles in horror movies?

Ok. I'm back. After a decade. Yes I'm the OP. Let me clarify, after showering myself clean from all the drivel I mucked through after having read all the posts accumulated here over the last 10 years...I'm glad my post had such an impact. Yeah, the movie is still "rible." And that won't EVER change no matter how many years go by. With that said, the part in QotD at the bar scene where Aaliyah ripped that vamp's heart out of his chest TO THE DROP IN BEAT from the song was so monumentally radical I wore out the rewind button on my remote to it. I would've bought the movie 5 times over just to see that part again and again. After having seen the movie in theaters and wiping away my tears from just how awful THAT movie was, I still had to own the dvd just to have those few seconds in my repertoire. Not to mention the soundtrack is one of the best EVER, which I will time and time again tout as such. NOT, however, the entirety of the movie. As far as mindless, predictable, crap-Berry role movies go Gothi"k"a is still...rible rible rible.

hallie berry is awesome, she Can act. And you´re comments sucks this isn´t one of the best movies ever made, and you say your disgusted by this, well thats for some horror makers a honor to hear. Almost all the saw movies are 2 disgust you. Gothica isn´t the best movie But for a horror movie its a little better than average. And this movie is better than queen of the damned thats for shure

The film was interesting enough, it could had been better but it could had been lot worse.

I'm not a moron by the way. I felt that the story was interesting and the way the plot unraveled and kept you guessing was very well done and suspensful.

As far as the plot points you found offensive, this genre niche should have given you a clue that this might cover issues such as evil. It's a horror suspense flick, and I'll add mystery to those two aspects.

If scenes like the raping offend you then obviously it's not for you. Personally as an adult I was able to seperate the story from my own personal reality and enjoy a thriller with a true to life realistic theme that is very evil and reflects the reality of life on this planet.

Btw there are some other great films which you should avoid if those themes bother you, like Pulp fiction for instance.

This is on TV right now and I just realized how much it reminds me of some of the scenes in Frances.
