Movies similar to Eternal Sunshine - Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) Discussion

There aren't really many movies similar to this, at least not as good. But for more definitive Sci-Fy, try Dark City if you haven't seen it, or Total Recall (original) that everyone probably has seen, as they deal with implanted memories. Blade Runner has that similar sub-text about if humanity can be defined by a person's memories.

I highly recommend "I <3 Huckabees"

It has somewhat the same "vibe" this movie did... it's very strange and odd, as well, sort of like how this movie was.

Wow. ESOTSM is my favorite movie of all time and I HATED I<3Huckabees. It was the worst movie made that year and is probably in the bottom 10 of movies I've ever seen. I'm in absolute wonder of how you even thought to compare them.

Inception has some similar elements, but it's not half as emotional as this masterpiece. I haven't actually seen anything like this, but if you can refer to the most attracting element you liked about it, maybe I can help you.

Well, they're both these quirky comedies. While one is a road movie, and the other is a sci-if romance, they both have this whimsical style that flirts with darker themes.

"What Dreams May Come" is very much in the same genre as this film. Very emotional, great cinematography, makes you think for days/weeks, etc.
If you liked this one, you'll like it.
