Kate Bosworth was unbelievably nauseating!

Oh GOD!!! Not only did she make me want to tear my hair out for the whole movie, the resolution of the romantic plotline revolved around the 'six smiles' that she was supposed to have. Even this was too much for her, as she had the same sickening inane expression for the entire film. The only thing that induced me to stay til the end was the fabulous comic timing of Topher Grace, and great cameos by Nathan Lane and Sean Hayes. Please tell me that she is not the future of the Hollywood actress! Give me Scarlett Johanssen or Claire Danes any day! Thank God shes more famous for her boyfriend than her acting!

I totally agree. I really don't get what the deal is with her.

What about when she holds up the Little Debbie snacks at the food store and said "aren't these great", and I almost believed her sincerity. Like she would ever eat those processed crap-cakes.

I like Kate. I think she's a good actress and she's pretty. (You should see "Wonderland" - GREAT acting)
She IS way too skinny though. And her bangs in this movie were kinda annoying
LOL, but I think she is pretty. A lot of people hate her because of her
boyfriend, O. Bloom and that's just ridiculous.
She's not my favorite or the best actress in the world, but she was good in
this movie and she's definitely NOT nauseating. The script was a little lame
at times, but I think all the characters worked w/ what they had.

I was not impressed with Kate Bosworth either...her performance IMO was just this side of wooden. She reminded me of a 15 year old in her first high school play. There are about two dozen other actresses out there that could have played that par SO much better than she did.

reply

i have to agree, her acting was poor, it was as though she was too concentrated on posing the whole time that she forgot to act.

I didn't care much for Kate's acting or the character in this movie. The character was too sweet, and I hated all of the little catchphrases. I saw her in Young Americans back when that was on the air, and I loved her in that, so I think maybe it was just kind of difficult for her to get into the character. Also, it could have been the chemistry between all of the actors in this movie that threw it off. It seemed like she did a much better job portraying the character when she was with Ginnifer than with Topher Grace and the guy that played Tad.

Overall I enjoyed the movie. Good, basic plot, and Topher Grace was great.

I agree. I just watched this movie yesterday & the reason I watched it was to see Topher Grace (he's hilarous!) and to watch Kate Bosworth because I have never really seen her in anything but people talk about her a lot because of her relationship. I believe the movie could have been better if there was another girl for the lead. Although i was rooting for her & Topher it didn't seem they had much chemistry. This movie was a good story line but didn't do as great as it could have. Is it because of Kate Bosworth. Maybe.....

She can't act!

well, i think topher and josh did a great job. and theyre both gorgeous!
and sean hayes is just awesome
but i def c wher the annoyance is coming from about kate
i mean, ive seen quite a few of her other films and shes not a bad actress, but i agree shes lacking something in wadwth! maybe its the 'yikes a bee' and whatever ther other phrase was that annoyed me so much
but i think shes pretty and shes not too thin. i think she did a good job with the script she had and she may seem a bit 'wooden' at times, but i think that works, coz shes like a small town girl and is basically stunned most of the time lol
but yeah, i rlly liked the movie but a few things wer annoying.
and, sorry a bit off topic, but what was with the bathroom scene where pete confronts tad? was that really necessary. and it was so long. a bit awkward.

reply

Who cares? She's freaking gorgeous.

reply

She sure was nauseating but thanks to the beach pictures that were taken of her we can also say that she has got some great breasts.

reply

Not as dumpy-looking as Scarlett, prettier than Clare Danes. I think she had the kind of 'fresh' look that was just right for this part.

reply

agreed! never seen anyone else who also thought scarlett was dumpy looking (coming from a bigger girl too) and claire plain. i mean she is kinda cute as a blonde but next to kate they are so plain and frankly scarlett is weird looking and has a flat butt.

Sweet as sugar, hard as ice, hurt me once I'll kill you twice~

reply

Thank you. So dumpy!

As for SJ - I don't know . . . watch "The Island" again - esp. the parts with her on the boat all sun-dappled and gauzy. Or the part where she jumps from under the sheet packing a .45 and says, "Nobody is f-cking touching me!" Now THAT is a woman.
