Worst Actor: Marlon Wayans

I was very disappointed in The Ladykillers and would love to see Marlon Wayans (or 'Moron' Wayans as I like to call him) get the Worst Actor award given at The Razzie Awards. I hated Wayans' acting and character in this film. He annoyed me worse than any character I've ever seen in a movie! I got sooo sick and tired of him screaming the "F" word over and over...and over! However, the bottom line is: Marlon Wayans sucks in this film and should get a well-deserved award for his stomach-turning acting. Any agreements? Any disagreements? (You must be insane if you do disagree)

I think you have a personal vendetta against Marlon Wayans and I will allow you to vent your opinions. However, He was perfect in the role he was casted in. Blame the shortcomings on the character he had to portray, and not on his acting ability. Marlon Wayans is one of the most versatile actors as is evident in the greatly acclaimed film Requiem For A Dream. He carried his role well in GI Joe too and when he comes to comedy, he is top of the class. By calling him "Moron" you plainly displayed your puerile bias that has nothing to do with him but with the character he portrays.

If you can't show any objectivity in the way you analyze character roles, vis-a-vis the actors, you have a long way to go in appreciating film.

Put me down on the side of "He ruined the film". Whether it was his fault or the Coens, I couldn't tolerate the character.

I just got through watching this movie. Yes, his character was unlikeable for all of his cursing, but some people do that on a regular basis. A reflection of real life, but when you are making a movie for a vast mixed audience, it would be something to consider. An actor is really only as good as what the writer/producer/director hands him. To be a little fair, Wayan's character did redeem himself slightly for backing out of killing the old lady because she reminded him too much of his mother. Some of the others were more cold hearted than he was. Maybe this is the type of roles Wayans angles for - I don't know. I haven't seen him in all the work he does. Certainly not the worst actor you could see, but an unsympathetic character to be sure.

I think he was awesome like everyone else in the movie.

he is horrible, so is every one else in this sham. hanks, who I don't normally like , delivers one of the finest performances I have ever seen. what a waste

he was bad in this. he was good in requiem for a dream, and also very funny in movies made by his family.

This movie could have been a classic. But unfortunately one character spoilt the whole film. The only thing he had to offer was prolific swearing and the constant use of *beep* I don't know who thought this character was going to add something worthwhile, but boy! did they get it wrong. The Coen brothers slipped up by not realising that this character was killing the movie and ditching him. If I was Wayans (thank goodness I'm not) I would hate to have this movie in my C.V., I bet he doesn't show his children this movie.
