The movie that ruined almost

... An entire generation of women. Seriously, the vast majority of girls I have dated since high school are really just looking for this cookie cutter, formulaic relationship. It's really quite sad. There's a reason why this is fiction. Ladies need a reality check. This isn't real life. This isn't how love is supposed to be. This is a book/movie. Please stop comparing your relationship to the notebook. And if you have the sensibility to not do this already, then you're one of the very few who can apparently tell the difference between reality and a d@mn movie.

When something says "based on a true story" that doesn't mean it's fact. That's just mean that they used a true story as the basis of their story and the. Fabricated and/or removed and/or added elements.

Most women under 35 have no idea what they really want.

Women in that generation like old fashioned and new school values whatever works for them in that moment. I think a lot of these girls grew up spoiled and they do have a fantasy view on relationships. This movie is a bad example because why does the girl get a free pass for cheating?

So many females give her a pass because her mother took the letters but what did her fiancé do to deserve getting cheated on.

I'm not saying all but a lot of young women view cheating this way

Men cheating
He's abusive and a monster

Women cheating
He deserved it because he didn't make enough money or spend enough time with her or my favorite excuse you can't control who you fall in love with

I don't agree one bit. I know plenty of girls (myself included) who laugh at this movie because of the formulaic and overly idealized relationship. Sure, some girls have high standards, but I hardly believe you can pin any one movie on ruining almost an entire generation of anything. I'd say there are many women -the majority- that find this formula silly. It's not realistic, and you simply can't claim that one cheesy movie brainwashed an entire generation. Trust me, there are a ton of cheesy romance movies out there. And sure, this is a big one that people won't shut up about, that some girls fantasize about. But if you believe women's goals and thoughts completely revolve around Nicholas Sparks, you've got another thing coming. I think you've had a pretty biased sample, my friend. Try dating some different girls.

And again, even if the girls you dated were looking for some cookie cutter romance, there's a whole genre of movies that could cause it rather than this movie.

Then you're meeting the wrong women and its not the movie to blame. My husband brought me home an onion ring from his lunch. Silly? Cold and greasy? Yes, yes and yes BUT that's romance. He was thinking of me and what I like when we were apart. It's the little things that are romantic. Not a bouquet of flowers or pricy jewelry, but a stale onion ring. It's all about the thought.

SPOILERS AHEAD!

First, i'm a guy. Second, i just saw this for the first time.
On what planet is this relationship cookie cutter or formulaic? Or something that's even impossible or some fairy tale relationship?
They fall in love, fight, fight some more, break up, he goes to war, she's gonna marry someone else, get back together, i'm sure they fought more, she gets dementia and can't remember him for more than 5 mins at a time.
Every girl's dream! Rainbows and puppy dogs!

That is what a lot of girls wants. A bunch of drama and for him to keep coming back like a puppy dog lol.

I was "forced" to watch this movie with my girlfriend and she was so much happy and more in love afterwards, because she could she that I have the same qualities as Noah & actually apologized for not being more romantic compared to me. Although I must admit that I enjoyed the movie.... A beautiful tale and very inspiring indeed!

Did You Know That "Hindu" Means Black Dog, Black Slave & Black Thief in Persian?
