I absolutely hated this film and thought about walking out the theatre numerous times. First off, it was just so incredibly dull. The movie didn't seem to go anywhere. I was constantly thinking: when is the movie gonna get into gear. Second what the hell was this movie about?! A bunch of lame subplots thrown all together. And third, the "funny" parts were embarassingly bad. The interregation scene was one of the most ridiculous scenes I've ever seen. I mean it's one thing that Ford and Hartnett's characters to act like idiots during the interrogation (they don't want to be there) but the interrogating cops acting like morons was just absurd and made the scene completely incredible.
At least Charlie's Angels 2 had some adrenaline. This flick was just plain BORING!
I saw the movie today and i have to say that i agree somwhat with you. the first half hour is kinda dull, but i think it pick up after that. i dont like Hartnett that much but Ford is a great actor, nobody can deny that... and I laughed pretty hard during the interrogation scene... if you are comparing CA2 with this movie i think u have to do some study cause CA sux ass... the only reason why anyone wanna see it is because of the nice bodies, not because of the wannabe matrix effects... talk about a lame story there...
Love your quote hetzer3, i love commando. When my brothers and sister and i were little we hired that movie so many times, it was just great!
Oh, and i thought this movie was great. I didnt really want to see it but my sister dragged me to it and i actually really liked it, so poo to all those who bagged it out.
Now a question of etiquette; as I pass, do I give you the ass or the crotch...?
I just saw this and when the car chase started I just about gave up, but since it was nearly the end, I bit the bullet and hung in there. Now I wish I had given up. Total bogwash. I haven't seen such rubbish since, er, Orange County, which I DID give up on after about half an hour. If Hollywood Cops was a comedy, I didn't laugh once, just cringed. Worst of the year? Yeah.
One of only two movies I've walked out on. This was wretched. There was nothing remotely good about this movie; plot, acting, script. I always thought Ford was a better actor than this.
I actually thought this was a really hilarious movie! Not one of the best movies of all time, yeah, but my family rented it through Netflix and were in hysterics the whole time. After watching it, we couldn't understand how come it got such horrible reviews, because we actually enjoyed it - it was very entertaining.
I'm afraid I have to agree with you on this one. What was most dissappointing for me was that it Harrison Ford was in it. A Legendary actor who I have always trusted to read a good script obviously didn't read this one. What was he thinking. What have the Producers got on him? That must be it, he was being blackmailed. The film was so far past being crap, that we are going to have to come up with another word to describe it. This is the sort of film I expected to see Jim belushi or Martin Lawrence in, Not Harrison ford
The Interogation scenes were...well...piffle. What cracked up bum monkey thought that up? It wasn't amusing, It wasn't witty all it had going for it was that it Ford in it, and In my opinion that worked against it. a lesser actor could have pulled it off. We expect more from Ford.
In my opinion this was a crap project that tried too hard. Very dissapointing.
this movie was a comedy?...ok that explains alot of things.. i have to say though harrison ford's fight moves look as fake as ever in this movie..i mean that was some really laugh out loud moves. That should put any talk of an indiana jones movie to rest.. i mean just look at this movie. Ha! HA! LOL.
very poor movie...the casting of Josh Hartnett as the younger cop was a mistake IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like Hartnet but he played it too straight. This had a similar feel to Showtime with De Niro and Murphy, which is a superior film although by no means a classic. One's an old skool cop, the other just wants a taste of fame and glory. And the actual murders became a sub-plot behind Ford and Hartnett's personal problems
