Did anyone else think Orny Adams is biggest a$$ ever?

I hope this guy never makes it, cause if he did wouldn't be gratefull. I think he was in this so people would not hate Jerry, which i admit worked because I normally am not a fan of his comedy but respected him lots more when compared to Adams.

i watched this when it first came out. he made such a negative impression on me, even though i havent seen him in anything since the name sticks in my memory and that gut visceral feeling of disgust.

Actually, when I tink of Adams in the film, yes he was arrogant, but even more I think he was really really really insecure and looking for approvement. He actually reminded me a lot of the character 'David Brent" in the british version of the office, did anybody get the same feeling??

Ps. also the funniest part of the movie for me was when he shows the newspaper to the waitress and then say 'don't toutch it', in a really nervous way. And the only reply of the waitresses is 'is Orny your real name? No parent would call their kid Orny'! Sooo funny!! :)

Well i do standup comedy out here in southern CA. And I havent been doing it too long, but in the case of Orny doing standup for 8 years, well sometimes it takes longer to make it typically 8-15 years but it varies greatly.

And I'm a bit of an a$$ myself, but never to anyone at my shows (unless they're asking for it) those are the people that support you, come to your shows and reccomend you to their friends.

I also steer away from crackin on other well known comics, you're burning bridges there. Plus you better make sure your much funnier than the comic your ripping on (even then its bad form) and in Orny's case he is no Steven Wright. Steven Wright is a very original groudbreaking comic and Orny is not near that calibur.

The guy just seemed so earnest and eager like Bania. I thought it was great.

When he is lying on the sidewalk talking about his future wife who he hasn't met yet, I couldn't help but feel sorry for her ... whoever she turns out to be.

I don't think it's even relevent whether he's funny or not, Dane cook is a huge star and is as funny as cancer.
orny just smacked of insecurity and desperation, which came across as arrogant. He couldn't even handle being heckled (the gay jibe) or given advice by people in the business. Humble just isn't in his vocabulary which says to me, he's not in the game because he loves stand up comedy, he just wants to be a star.

He reminds me of those 'weekend rockstars' you see playing *beep* gigs to a handful of people but still act like they're playing a stadium!
Professionals are usually humble and don't display their issues...or they at least act that way in public.

Let's get one thing straight: Orny ISN'T arrogant. He's INSECURE. That's what all that feather-puffing nonsense is about. It has nothing to do with age. The guy is 29! I'm a 28 year-old visual artist and vocalist. I don't go around spouting off why I should be famous and all this other nonsense. I just shut the *beep* up and do my work.

Judging from the clips I watched of him in the movie, he seems funny in the same way the first person to get kicked off from Last Comic Standing seems funny. Angry people make me uncomfortable and I could even tell how generally pissed off he was during a few of his bits. "WHY AM I NOT FAMOUS YET?" I can tell he has an "audience" in the way that Carlos Mencia does. I'm not a part of that demographic.

Okay Orny; you're funny and that's great. Call me when you actually become witty and we'll do lunch!

he is so cocky and he is sh*t, white trash

orny's biggest problem is he was always whining as to why he hadn't made it. when in reality, had he handled himself better in the movie, it could have been his big break.

they basically served him up on a silver platter, but he chose to bitch & moan & complain that everyone & everything is holding him down.

but the problem therein lays the fact that nobody wants to work w/ pretentious douchebags, no matter how talented they are.

in fact, I think the movie had an opposite affect on orny's career. people came to see just how orny is. no one wants to deal w/ those kinds of people. some will tolerate it if they're great or elite at what they do... but not for someone like him.
