The director's cut of this movie is the greatest historical epic ever made

Do you think the Hospitaller character was an angel? Or God itself? Also the Sibylla character's motivations were completely cut from the OG version. Not sure what it is about Ridley Scott (Blade Runner), but these director cuts are amazing

Do we really have to have this argument all the time? Historical accuracy, when concerning true life events or people, doesn't have anything to do with it. I understand, people get all out of joint at the term 'historical epic', but there's more to it than true life events. It's the location photography, it's the costumes, the dialogue all combining into believable 'of the time' characters and events. Whether or not certain exact people existed or did some specific 'thing' isn't the final word.

In fact, just off the top of my head I can't think of a 'historical' movie that is %100 accurate to real life events. That's not the job of Hollywood.

Wow, really? I've only seen the theatrical version. Which I thought was pretty ok.

Never bothered with the director's cut cause I was kinda letdown by the film overall.

But I genuinely didn't know that the DC is THAT much of an improvement

Popped over here after reading an article mentioning how amazing the DC version of KOH was and this thread appears to confirm it. I’m definitely going to have to check it out.

For the record I liked the theatrical release and gave it a 8/10.
