well for me personally the ONLY 'great level' (as in 9/10 or higher) Modern Westerns (say 1990 to date?) are Unforgiven (1992) and Open Range (2003). (both would rank quite high on the all-time best westerns to :) )
but besides those two... i would say '3 10 to Yuma' (2007) (8/10) is probably the overall next best Modern Western. (it's also got 89,000+ votes so it seems like one of the more watched/popular recent westerns on IMDB, but i would not be surprised of that's mostly due to the cast of Christian Bale/Russell Crowe as Christian Bale seems to be quite popular these days.)
and depending if your a fan of Westerns in general (like me)... you might like 'Wyatt Earp' (1994) (7/10) / 'Tombstone' (1993) (7/10) ... and if you like a simple more action oriented Western i would say 'The Quick & The Dead' (1995) (7-8/10) ... there's also 'The Proposition' (2005) (7/10) and while i only gave that a 7/10 (and only seen it once so far) it does have a average rating of 7.5/10 so apparently people liked it. (i believe it's mostly shot in Austrailia though) ...and maybe 'Dances with Wolves' (1990) (7/10) and possibly "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" (2007) (7/10) (i only seen Assassination of Jesse James 2007 once though and while i overall liked it, i feel it's pacing a tad slow which ultimately hurts it in my book vs something like Open Range which does slower paced MUCH better. but it does seem some people are huge fans of that Jesse James film though but not me personally due to it's bad slower pacing but i still liked it, it's just nothing that makes you go 'wow' like Open Range does.) etc etc.
but if your looking for 'the best' stuff then i would probably say '3 10 to Yuma' (2007) is about as good as you will get if you exclude the elite stuff (i.e. Ungorgiven/Open Range) over the last 20 years or so.
p.s. for me personally Open Range ranks up with the very best Westerns of all-time.
