We NEED a sequel NOW!

This movie was a fine movie when it came out in 2003.

15 years later, it stands out in filmmaking history as a real masterpiece.

The crap that comes out today would certainly pale in comparison to a properly made sequel.

What are Weir and Crowe waiting to manufacture a sequel? Do we need to sign a petition?

reply

The sequel would feature a female captain and a trans crew. Let's skip sequels until this fad is over.

reply

I say: this sequel will put an end to that fad, with an all male cast of real men.

No token gay, woman, trans, only tough sailors ready for the battle.

reply

Only if Mel Gibson directs it - everyone else is in the gay/woman/trans camp.

reply

We might have missed the boat...
Crowe looks like a boe now, I don't know if he can pull off a Christian Bale stunt diet for this role.
Anyway, it's clear that hollywood is not interested anymore in making this kind of films (good ones).

reply

Well overdue.
One of the best Napoleonic navy movies ever.

Have it with that new captain at the end of the movie along with that one arm kid now under him.

reply

Totally, but also the original crew and ship, not just a spin off.

Just stop Crowe from eating for 3 months and shoot this!

reply

too late for crowe. he can have a cameo as the fat retired admiral.

reply

No, I've seen him in Unhinged last year and I thought the same.
But he just made Poker Face and he looks totally fine for an older Aubrey, not too fat at all.
And he could also get in an even better shape.

A sequel is still a valid options, only I don't believe they will ever make it because Hollywood is total shit now and this movie is not streaming prone, it's a big screen feature.

Unless Bezos is a fan of MAC, and picks up the bill with Amazon, I doubt it'll ever happen.
Fuck Hollywood.
