Hiding your drug money in a sofa
Here's an idea: put it in a safety deposit box instead.
shareI came here to write a similar post. This seems like a plot hole in the sense that I don't know any intelligent dope dealers who would be this stupid. I think they also found drugs in there, too, which would be equally dumb.
shareCorrect. The DEA agent pulled out the drugs after he pulled out the cash.
Not smart at all.
Well it's a 2002 movie, So they didn't give as much a *beep* as they do now.
I agree, it's *beep* stupid to put it into a sofa because that's just overdone and they always look there, if you're gonna bother hide it at least hide it somewhere secret not in your sofa which is the first place they always look at, might as well put it into a case display for everyone to see.
Then the worst part is the money and the drugs in the same spot, wtf?
It's hard to take a movie seriously when unrealistic *beep* like this happens, he was supposed to be a smart character, yet only a stupid character would have hid it there.
I think the point of this scene is he was framed. He'd been working for a long time as a dealer and had a higher up covering his ass. Where he hid his stash was probably irrelevant because the feds KNEW where it was before they even got there.
Amy: I swear to God...I swear to God! That is NOT how you treat your human!
Exactly. If he wasn't framed, they never would have found it anyway. It's not like they raided his apartment and said, "check the sofa! It might be in there!". They already knew it was in there thanks to his "buddy" ratting him out.
shareThen his best friend was a stockmarket person...

With a DEA search warrant, they take everything apart, Some take a day and some are completed over several days. This is their job and they will not miss your drugs -- Unless you are smart enough to NOT keep them in the house! This guy wasn't smart enough to double-bag Seal-A-Meal(r) then and bury them?. So easy to do and it's how all criminals treat their illegal gain and contraband.
