I DONT CARE..I LOVE THIS MOVIE

Big,dumb, preposterous b-movie though it is,its got spaceships, huge diamonds,killer-pigeons and Delroy Lindo as a mad scientist....

I love this movie. I have seen it like 10 times. I really don't understand why so many people hate it so much. All science fiction contain elements that are untrue, exaggerated, or seemingly inaccurate. Besides, this isn't a physics course at Caltec. Did you really think that all the science behind Iron Man was rooted in reality? Please. They call movies like The Core science FICTION for a reason.

Hollywood disaster films don't usually do much for me and this one certainly isn't without its faults. But, they seem to have put a bit more effort into the characters than is usually the case with this genre, so you do care what happens to them... It is completely preposterous - though, I have heard people connected to the production say the science is all perfectly credible. But, it's a fun, likeable film with considerably more heart than a lot of Hollywood films.

Me too. Great actors, great humour, great disaster scenes. The pace never slows down. Somehow, it doesn't really make you scream "Oh get out of here!".

Awesome movie, we watch it every six months or so :)

"and so we'll hunt him because he can take it" Are you fuqin' kidding me???

One of my favorite movies. Fun stuff!

I'm fine, I'm giddy!

Bad as it is, this flick is far better than the idiotic, cliched "2012."

truer words were never spoken! nothing is as awful as 2012 !!! i had to force myself to sit through it, and not roll my eyes out of their socks!

this movie is entertaining, the pace never lets up! the character all had some kinda connection in groups of two, jealous collegues, friends&collegues, pilot&copilot(mentor/student thingy) when they lost someone along the way no matter how preposterous u feel for them, for me the only thing i think they could have improved on was what the core was supposed to look like, it looked something like the music display on windows media player when u have music on! but still it isnt too distracting!

ah well the kids enjoyed it!!!

reply

And don't forget Armageddon! I couldn't even sit through that one all the way. Same with 2012.

Love the movie too, and I personally forgive all its mistakes to have fun with it.

Hey, 2012 was fun, and it wastually WASN'T as cliched, so i don't know what you're talking about,. For once they didnt have the cute minor characters saved at the last moment, and the never allowed the father to recconnect and make amends to his son, they both died before the chance was given.

I love it too -- I don't care about the accuracy of the science or any of that -- this movie is a total guilty pleasure of mine!!

Normally the pseudo-science would be enough to bring to sobbing fits of rage, but I found the Core enjoyable from start to finish.

I don't normally care about scientific accuracy in fiction, but this movie didn't really have anything going for it. I don't hate the movie and think a lot of people complaining about scientific accuracy need to chill out a bit, but I don't think its a good film, and even if the science was completely plausible, it wouldn't increase my enjoyment.

Agreed, shouldn't be a 5, the movie isn't so bad, its entertaining as hell and a nice concept, kinda like Armageddon.

7/10 for me, i think i might just watch it now. :))
