Hmm,
I judge an actor by his ability to do varied roles. He did well in this movie, but was basically acting himself. Given he's overcome any nerves to be where he is as a rapper/performer means that he didn't really have to overcome those nerves to act 'himself'.
As an actor I think he's average and nothing else.
