Why would Disney even make this film?

If The original Cinderella was such a classic, and still is, why would they even make this film, poor story, poor animation , I was watching it today on Disney Junior and I was reminded of how awful this is , at least story wise, animation wise Cinderella 3 is great it sort of lives up to the original I mean , I honestly think its a disgrace to even touch such a masterpiece like Walt Disney's Cinderella then have it be a cheap direct to video sequel , at least part 3 was good , Cinderella is one of my favorite Disney characters and one of my favorite childhood stories, I think we should all forget this one even happened In my opinion!.

poor story
I hope you're not referring to "Aim to Please" or "An Uncommon Romance", because they're really good stories. "Tall Tail" is bad, but I never hated it with a passion like most people did.
poor animation
I never understood the complaints for the animation. It's decent.
I agree with you on the original and Cinderella III, though. This movie can't touch either of those.

For money, of course. One thing that isn't lacking in the world are fans curious enough to see glimpses of Cinderella's "happily ever after" life.

Why Disney decided to make Cinderella II was because they wanted to honor the debut of a new at the time Cinderella themed attraction at Walt Disney World and what better way to honor it than have a new Cinderella sequel. Considering no other classic Disney Princess movie has had a sequel Cinderella was the chosen one and since Cinderella is a hugely popular Disney Princess she is the most popular princess that gets the most attention. And it somehow worked because with the release of it for the first time on DVD Cinderella's fanbase had grown with the release of Cinderella III. But even though the classic Princess movies such as The Little Mermaid and Beauty And The Beast have had sequels it won't be long before we see Snow White II or Sleeping Beauty II in the works

They were planning on doing a TV series, I think.
But it never went far and became only three episodes, which became this movie.
