Band of Brothers vs. Taken

Which Spielberg mini-series did you enjoy more?

So far I've only watched 6 of the 10 Taken episodes and I love it, but overall I'd say Band of Brothers was a stronger effort.

Both are fantastically done, but I doubt anything in 'Taken' can match the very final scene of "Band of Brothers" where all the guys are playing baseball and you hear about what they did after the war and then you see the interview footage with the actual veterans... it doesn't get much better than that.

So where does your opinion lie?

Have you ever seen the 1987 HBO documentary "Dear America: Letters Home From Vietnam"? That is a very moving piece of documentary film

It's where celebrities read actual letters written home from people serving in Vietnam. It uses all real news footage & also has music from the era

Yes, it is heartbreaking. Especially with the music being played while the letters are being read. One letter Robin Williams read was funny because the soldier was describing bar hops to his family & Robin Williams did voices too. I think it's something every young person should see before joining the military and every politician should see before deciding to declare war. You should be able to find it on ebay or amazon without any problems.

I love any genre except Western. Only the Western genre I don't really like at all. I love any other genre. I love the war genre, I love the sci-fi genre. But out of Band of Brothers and Taken I would watch Taken any day. Not that BOB isn't good, it is very but I just prefer Taken.
And you can't really have a "verses" competition with a historical awsome war mini-series and a fictional (except for the aliens) historical to present sci-fi mini-series.

Bourne + Bond = Best Action Film Award

To rowanlc: TAKEN actually had quite a bit of actual historical data. The Cuban Missle Crisis, The Roswell crash, The Kenneth Arnold report, Betty & Barney Hill, the references to the Enola Gay mission, etc...

WW2 drama and an alien series spanning 60yrs(ish) they are completely different
