HANNAH'S ACTING IS SO BAD - WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT IT ??!

The actress playing Hannah was so bad I wanted to get infected, bleed from the eyes and not be human again.
The other actors are good...
The script is good...
The music is good...
The movie as a all is good...
SHE IS SO BAD
Why was she cast in this ?
Who's to blame?
AND WHO SERIOUSLY THINKS THIS IS OK ??

I can't sleep
This is too much
I searched, on this board, on different panels. I typed in Google "28 days later hannah sucks so bad painful acting" and nothing came up
I'm not crazy, I can't be the only one.
WHO'S WITH ME ? LET'S UNITE

and for the record the actress didn't do any other movies after that and now she plays in a goth band. So good for her. But this was torture.

Haha!

Rewatched 28 days and 28 weeks back to back this evening, I think it is less her acting and more her weird accent, trying to work out what it was supposed to be did distract me somewhat!

I did wonder if she could possibly have been the best actress they auditioned??

reply

If I'm being generous I'd say she was trying to create a character who was traumatised from what she'd seen so was withdrawing. But yes, it is really distracting how flat she is, and surprised a director as good as Boyle didn't do something about it

Yeah her "acting" was terrible. I don't think it ruined the film (I still think the movie is great, for the most part) but it definitely ruined Frank's death scene. Once I saw the film in a class on my course and people laughed at her line delivery.

Considering she hasn't acted since this film (she only appeared in one other film before this one) I guess acting wasn't her thing.

I never knew she was in a goth band but it seems to be going well for her and I wish her luck.

Yes. I think the Oscar is safe.

Hey you numbskull...... Maybe..... Just maybe, the DIRECTORS told her to act that way!?!? Meaning: lifeless, sad, somber and devastated to the point of feeling deeply depressed? If that was her first role, it was okay! I'm sure that she was HEAVILY COACHED on every line that she had to say and I'm sure that they told her EXACTLY HOW TO DISPLAY HER EMOTIONS..... you probably think that TONYA ROBERTS was deserving of an Oscar when she was a James Bond girl in "A VIEW TO A KILL"? She was HORRIFIC compared to Hannah!!! Yes, Tonya Roberts was absolutely gorgeous in that movie but man, did she suck so bad!!!!!

reply

Agreed. Her acting was quite terrible.

reply

She was terrible and tried a music career after acting. She had some sort of emo/goth thing going on. That failed too.

reply

Acting was horrible, but it works with the perspective that she was emotionally deadened.
