am i the only one who liked it??

granted i never saw the first one, and had no expectations. i thought the movie was interesting, maybe not the best, but definitely not a waste of time. and the ending kept me guessing. i had to draw my own conclusions about the whole thing and everything else unexplained which was fun...

Gee, I'm just so glad it turned out to be the evil and merciless US Government again, I wasn't sure if they could come up with a proper and realistic scapegoat..... (dripping sarcasm, for those who are already so cubed)

No. I saw Hypercube first and got immediately hooked. After I researched on this movie, I then watched Cube and Zero. I have to say Hypercube is the best of all; I liked Zero the second.
which proves the theory that the first movie you see out of a trilogy is always liked best

i also saw hypercube first and it's my favourite of all three by far. followed by the first one. Cube Zero was the worst imo. I still liked the guy with the dimond eye (or whatever it was) and that the makers tried to explain the story a bit more. But why were there androids?

further proof.
And what androids?

Another one here. I really enjoyed all the cube films though over all this is the best for me.
It is my opinion people watch films don't understand them as the concept is way beyond their capacity to follow (mostly those who love action films it seems)so they slag it off to cover their own failings.
How many watch a French film and say I don't get it but it was great all the same? Not many I suspect and the same goes for intelligent Horror/Science fiction/and anything else that makes you think.
I guess that is why people have criticised the Hole too.

I personally liked the Cube more because of the human aspect and the storyline. You feel attached to the characters and you want them to escape the cube. In this one I just didn't give a damn; I just wanted it to end with all the conspiracy theories and that *beep* it reminded me of Resident Evil (not that I don't like it). The original Cube gives the impression of being random; no conspiracy theories, no Umbrella (Sorry, Izone! lol), no military... It leaves all of those explanations to the viewer's imagination....
Oh and one last thing; the ending sucked in every possible aspect!

reply

The soldiers in Cube Zero, which hunted the escapee. They were most likely either not human at all or half-human, android-like creatures. As far as i remember they didn't really act independently but were controlled by someone else... But it was ages ago since i'Ve seen Cube Zero, maybe i'm mixing things up.

Why wouldn't they be humans wearing combat gear?

reply

Yes.
