Would you take immortality?

If you wer egiven the chance, would yo decide to live forever. think about it carefully for a minute. Your family would die, your friends, your loved ones, yet you would live on. But, you would never have to face judgement, like going to heaven or hell, that is if you believe in it.

I would never take immortality. In a way it sounds fun and great. I would be able to get fifteen degrees and learn everything I wanted and try a million things. While that is wonderful, I wouldn't trade my mortality for it. I would never be able to see everyone I ever knew die. Also, I would never want to be stuck as I am now. I want grow and get older. There are some things you can only experience when you actually get to a certain age or do a certain thing; some of things I wouldn't be able to do because I would be stuck as a teenager.

Immortality as a prize?

To win is to lose and to lose is to win

Basil: Don't mention the war. I mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it.

I wouldn't take it now, as I am only 18. In a few years, yes, I probably would. I have had many discussions with my friends about this, and although the main problem is that you would have to work for all eternity - you wouldn't be able to live comfortably forever if you had no job - you would be able to be anything you wanted. You could have as many different careers as you wanted.
Of course, you'd somehow have to get fake passports and birth records and such as you moved around/changed name/your fake age far outstripped your appearence, and if fingerprinting or retina scans etc became the new methos of identification, there could be some problems...

Honestly, though, the pros outstrip the cons.

I don't believe that you will only have one soulmate, or one person you will love forever, so the idea of your 'soulmate' dying is just something that would happen in a normal lifetime, except if you lived forever, you would love again, and again, and again.
Yes, you'd see your friends and family grow old and die, but that would happen in a normal lietime, except you'd probably die not soon after.

Money and identification would be a problem, but other than that, there are no huge glaring issues that would stop me from taking imortality.
You would never have done everything. There would always be things to do, people to meet, dreams to acomplish.

Given the choice of either life or death, who on earth would choose death? I wouldn't and I'm of the older generation. I have plenty of things to still learn and do. I have no plans on dying any time soon. And when I watched this film and I saw the ending and found out she did not drink the water....well it was so unbelievable I just shook my head and said "this is not reality". There is no way a girl of 17 would not drink the water. No way.

If I did drink it I would want to be at least in my mid 20’s. I’d want a few others to drink it as well. I can’t imagine that the Tucks are the only ones who drank from the spring. There must have been some before them and even some after them.

Winnie was 15, not 17. Even from this boards we have seen people of all ages say Yes they would, No they would not and some who just don't know.

I would take it. I'm afraid of death. I think it's too good of an opportunity to pass up.
