Never watched this...

...never understood the point of a Superman show without Superman.

Were you alive / old enough in 2001? This show was huge back then. If you haven’t watched the show yet, you should definitely try to do so. The early seasons are good

I was 35, so... yeah.

I was a bit older too...2001...just out of high school so...19. I loved superman but a part of me that hated the idea of Lex and Clark being friends. It seems too alternate universe for me so I ignored it the first season. Then they would run reruns on whatever channel it was back that...not WB but like a USA or ABC Family or something and I got addicted. It's a fun show and you just have to not take it too seriously. They tried to take it too seriously and it just got obnoxious, lol. But those first 2-3 seasons were so good.

That's too bad, since in the comics (at least the Silver Age comics of the late 50's,c 60's, and 70's) Clark and Lex WERE friends as boys. Lex was also a friend of Superboy (who in the comics did work in costume and was well known to the residents of Smallville.) Lex was a genius and performed many experiments as a boy. What caused the rift between Superboy and Lex was a fire in Lex's lab. Superboy blew it out and several chemicals mixed together and the fumes caused Lex's hair to fall out. (which is why he is bald) Lex accused Superboy of being jealous of his genius and they became enemies thereafter.

This origin was, of course, altered when much of the DC universe was rebutted.

It's a Clark Kent show

I tuned it out the first few times I saw it on TV. Lex talking to Clark, not much happening.

Then I randomly started watching Season 7 and got hooked. I went back and watched seasons 1-6 before finishing 8-10.
Seasons 2 and 6 were great. The early seasons where he's gaining his powers and his family is around and it makes sense for him to still be in Smallville are awesome. The later seasons are good as the various Justice League members show up.

It's still the best superhero show on TV, after all these years.
