Completely Underrated

I don't understand why this movie has such low ratings on IMDB, RottenTomatoes, and Metacritic. I think this is one of the best parody movies ever.

Don't get me wrong I can't stand any Friedberg/Seltzer flick, those movies deserve horrible ratings.

I think this movie has developed somewhat of a cult following.

One of the best spoof movies.

I have never seen this movie before today. It's funny as hell, especially at the end and Randy Quaid and having a three-way with 2 apple pies. I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud so hard, its been a long time. The beginning was hilarious.

I love John Hughes films, he was a funny writer and I still watch almost all of his films. He wrote funny, not stupid, which seems to be what Hollywood is making now. I loved seeing Paul Gleason (RIP) as Mr. Vernon and using the same dialogue from the Breakfast Club was funny as hell. The use of Ron Lester in a similar role in the dumb Varsity Blues.

Let's see I found all the references to other teen movies Can't Hardly Wait, She's All That, Pretty in Pink, 10 Things I Hate About You, Bring It On, American Pie, Cruel Intentions, American Beauty, Never Been Kissed, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Can't Buy Me Love, Varsity Blues, Sixteen Candles, Risky Business and The Breakfast Club. Hilarious Anthony Michael Dinning Hall funny as hell. Very entertaining movie. I'd give it 8 out of 10.

Great sound track too

Loved the Breakfast Club spoof scene. It had the original teacher from the Breakfasts Club in the scene and it was cool

I agree 100%!!
I watched it lastnight for the first time, expecting it to be crappy like all the other parody movies, but this was excellent

I think part of the problem is people who haven't seen it think it's another "Meet the Spartans." It's ok, I think I did, too. When I finally watched it I was pleasantly surprised.

Not only is this one of the best spoof movies, but it's probably the last one that was worth a damn. Unlike every parody that came out in the 2000's (I really regret watching those), this one didn't rely on nothing but uninspired pop-culture references, and above all, it didn't fail on virtually every aspect. It's actually a funny and clever satire.

You want something corny? You got it!

I agree. Personally, I'd have to add "Dewey Cox" but besides those two, that's about it...

I agree. Just watched it again today.

To this day I yell, 'This is not a Cheerocracy!' at people and they generally have no idea what Im talking about. Other than, Im in charge here!

I also had a co-worker named Jake and would say, 'Jakie Jakie, about to make a big...mistakie...' quite often. Hah!

I watched it again on Netflix last night, cant of been that long since I last seen it cause I remember it word for word but still holds up just as well.

Remember, this movie came out the same time as Scary Movie 2 which was getting all the attention at the time and that was a terrible movie by comparison... being a big fan of the 1st and third film myself.
