Best movie of Richard Gere and an outstanding horror 7/10

If you like mystery and you are not so much in to gore and jump scares this movie is for you

I don't usually watch ANY horror, but this one worked for me. really good late night in the dark.
another friend thought it was really dull and pointless. everyone is different.

Everyone is different yet there are patterns, for example if you liked Evil Dead the chances are you're not gonna like this one

And if you liked The Mothman Prophecies, likely you gonna like The Ninth Gate

This is a strong example of a film that manages to quietly create an increasingly unsettling atmosphere.

I'm actually watching it right now.. It's is effective and again the atmosphere is creepy. Great Unexplained Phenomenon type of stuff..

Coincidentally I pulled this one out the other day after not having seen it in ages. It's a decent film -- doesn't pack the punch it had when I first watched it, but aside from that it was decent. I'd say 7/10 is about right.

I find it's more fun when I play along and pretend that what I'm watching is something that really happened and that adds a lot to the effect.

The film Communion is another like that. If I pretend that what it portrays is real as opposed to imagined it is far more interesting.
