I love this movie! Can anyone reccomend anything similar?

I love this movie! I just seen the deleted scenes which are well worth viewing, the scenes were he gets caught shoplifting are funny. Can anyone recommend anything similar?

I think you would enjoy "Kotch" with Walter Matthau

Weather Man. Funny and depressing at the same time. Has the same feel to it.

'Harry and Tonto' was an excellent recommendation. Great film, and very much like About Schmidt.

There really is no other movie like “About Schmidt”; it is one of a kind. But if you liked it, I would recommend:

- American Beauty (1999) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0169547/?ref_=nm_knf_i1)
- Kirschblüten – Hanami (2008) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0910559/?ref_=rvi_tt)
- Little Miss Sunshine (2006) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0449059/?ref_=rvi_tt)
- No Country for Old Men (2007) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0477348/?ref_=rvi_tt)
- The Queen (2006) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436697/?ref_=rvi_tt)
- Ödipussi (1988) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094407/) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094407/reviews?ref_=tt_ov_rt) and
- Pappa ante Portas (1991) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102629/?ref_=rvi_tt) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102629/reviews?ref_=tt_ov_rt).

Then of course there is “The Bucket List” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0825232/?ref_=rvi_tt), but it is not as subtle as “About Schmidt”.

Another good movie about aging is “Driving Miss Daisy” (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097239/?ref_=nv_sr_1).

Best regards.

All the other boring depressing crap movies from that director about men past their prime should suit you.
