IU wouldn't have thought of that one (kingdom of heaven) cause I'm not a fan of the film, but you're right the cinematography was actually pretty good.

Can someone name a movie with better cinematography...?

one of the immediate ones that comes to mind is...

-Lord of War (2005) (10/10, a masterpiece!. it took me a few viewings to fully appreciate this masterpiece though as initially i was around a 7-8/10 but the more i seen this the better it got and it's a film i never get tired of watching either. this film would also rank very high on my all-time favorite movies list.)

that film along with Road to Perdition is one of the few films i would classify as a masterpiece since 2000 to date. because BOTH have that sophisticated 'art' side to them besides just being a great film. which they have that feel and look to them that i would classify as a masterpiece.

BOTH have solid camera work and BOTH have solid music that fits the mood etc... so in some ways they have a similar feel to em. and yeah, this film has nice cinematography in my opinion. good enough to be 'worth mentioning' for sure.

but i would not say 'better' cinematography since you cant really get 'noticeably' better than Road to Perdition in that dept since it was beautifully filmed.

There Will Be Blood is beautifully shot

i agree. but the movie itself, even though really well acted by Day-Lewis and filmed well i just cant give it masterpiece status imho.

Maybe not better, but Once Upon A Time In The West was shot very well too.

ain't that the truth. lol

because even though the film i mentioned (i.e. Lord of War) is one of my 'favorite movies' to... i can genuinely list it as not only a GREAT film but one that genuinely has nice cinematography to it that's worth mentioning in the same level (or close) as Road to Perdition (which is VERY GOOD)

I loved Conrad L Hall's cinematography in RTP!!!!!

The scene where Sullivan shoots Rooney and the rest of the "family" in the rain is one of the most beautiful things that I have ever seen on film.
