Schindler's List vs The Pianist

Which movie do you think is better?

I caught this movie the other day and I was quite impressed with it. But it is very similar to SL. So, I wanted to know what you guys think is better. I would give TP a 8.2 while SL gets a 9.0 out of 10.

I just think SL has the better first hour. TP's first hour is not quite a strong as the remaining time. And SL had a greater number of interesting characters, both good guys and bad. You really can't go wrong with either movie, both are very good.

Schindler's List is the better film.

I prefer the Pianist.

i still have yet to watch SL

It is a great film. You should check it out. Fiennes and Neeson are terrific in SL but everyone did a good job.

will do

I think SL is the better directed film but I find TP a bit more engrossing narratively due to its focus on one character's journey surviving the holocaust and Nazis and the many twists and turns that comes from it.

So to answer your question I think SL is the better film but I prefer watching TP.

I've tried watching SL multiple times and always end up turning it off after 20 minutes. The Pianist, however, I've watched multiple times and I love it every time. But then again I LOVE looking at Adrien Brody! ::SWOON::

I prefer Schindler’s but both are essential holocaust movies.

The Pianist is far more disturbing. It rubs your nose in the humiliation and murder of children, the crippled, the elderly - all in stark colours.

Schindler’s creates some distance from the horror with the black&white. It tells a great story of a scumbag who becomes a saint, opposite one of cinema’s most chilling villains - Amon Goethe.
