movies that are very good but you don't want to see again

this is one of mine. another is children of men. both are so grim, almost painful to watch. maybe also stalingrad, although it isn't as good a film as the other two. watching all 3 in a row would require prozac.

Requiem for a Dream, The Road, maybe District 9 and this. All great films but too heavy for me to watch again.

requiem for a dream is a movie i LOVE but to painful and crazy to watch.

If you've seen any of these films, then it's self explanatory.
1. Deliverance
2. Dead Ringers
3. Vanilla Sky
4. Blue Velvet
5. Antichrist

I think Requiem for a Dream.

The Deer Hunter. Back in 2004 the DVD was on sale for like $5.00. At that point, I had never seen it so I figured, why not? It's supposed to be good and I have 5 bucks and change in my pocket. Done! Well, I watched the movie and it was excellent. However, I will probably never watch it again. Here it is 9 years later and I have never watched the movie again. It still sits in it's DVD case. All regards to the cast and crew...but that movie disturbed me for weeks.

"Affliction" (1997).
Excellent flick, but so depressing I never plan on watching it again.

"Killer Joe".
Couldn't stop watching it, but once was enough!

"Menace II Society".
VERY well done -but D. E. P. R. E. S. S. I. N. G.

I agree with those who say "The Road". It was really good, but I never care to see it again.

replying to my own thread...

The Road is another one. Same with the book would not read it again even though it is excellent.

Alpha Dog. I had no Idea what that movie was about. I initially thought that I was watching some dramedy about a bunch of teenager, until the very end. I was like...OMG! Then I was like...

I woke up this way...

The first movie to come to my mind was An American Crime. A part of the grimness and terror for me is that it's based on a true story.

I came into this thread to say Children of Men, too. It was a good movie, but too grim and overbearing to watch. I have no desire whatsoever to watch it again.
