Anybody who says this is the worst movie ever is a hypocrite!

I'm sick of people saying this is the worst film ever! This is one of the best of 2001 with the Pool. I can think of hundreds of movies worse than this! Did this have good acting? yes. Did it actually have a script? yes. Great effects? yes! You people that say this is the worst havent even seen a movie where theres purple blood and the same recorded scream playing over and over! Heres some movies that are THE WORST

I just tried to watch this movie and I just couldn't do it. The acting and the writing was so horrible I had to turn it off.

Also, you clearly don't know what a hypocrite is. Please stick to monosyllabic words and crappy movies like this so you don't confuse the rest of the idiots who share your lack of taste.

I've seen it on cable a couple of times, and I found it enjoyable. If it didn't have someone as hot as Naomi Watts as the lead, it may have been less watchable, but I got what I was expecting.

The original poster obviously doesn't know what hypocrite means. I wouldn't put too much stock into what he/she said, considering said poster actually used the words "perfect" and "film" in describing this atrocious experience. First of all, this movie is not The Godfather, or Citizen Kane, or anything of that measure, so in NO WAY is it perfect. Secondly, while it certainly is a movie, THIS IS NOT FILM. Film brings to mind movies worth watching. This isn't even worth the free-ninety-nine price tag of watching it on fear.net. Seriously, this movie is a horrible experience for anyone, and honestly, Naomi Watts has given just as many bad performances as good in her career (I think we can officially label her a Hit-or-Miss actress).

Anyone who has had to sit through a "SyFy Channel Extremely Original Movies can confirm that this is not the worst by far!

As bad as this one is, it can clear the bar set by those movies even if it has to use a walker.

The amount of real science in those Sci-Fi Channel [Extremely] Original Movies isn't enough to make you blink if it were to fly in your eye.

Their grasp on ancient history and mythology isn't all that great, either. Check the message boards for
• Minotaur
• Cyclops
• The Treasure of the Grand Canyon

All I can say to the writers, director(s) and producer(s) of those is:
I admire your ability to get paid for that.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.

Yes I do know what hypocrisy means. I know big shock, u didnt expect me to return to this XD yes its been 6 years since I posted on here but in all that time I still view The Shaft as a fun, gory and really entertaning killer machine film. So no, sorry to dissapoint you guys but this is still one of 2001's better horror movies...
