Anybody who says this is the worst movie ever is a hypocrite!

I'm sick of people saying this is the worst film ever! This is one of the best of 2001 with the Pool. I can think of hundreds of movies worse than this! Did this have good acting? yes. Did it actually have a script? yes. Great effects? yes! You people that say this is the worst havent even seen a movie where theres purple blood and the same recorded scream playing over and over! Heres some movies that are THE WORST

The Alien Dead
Blood Shack
Zombie Chronicles
Blair Witch Project
Boardinghouse
Dont go in the woods

reply

Even if what you say is true that doesn't make anyone a hypocrite.
But then again vocabulary isn't all that important anymore.

reply

I just do not see how so many despise this perfect film.

reply

Axed...
I saw it available for a little less than $5.
Should I? I really like Naomi Watts...

"Where you goin'? NOWHERE!"

reply

Yes you need to buy this!

reply

This is one of 3 worst films I have ever watched!!!! The other two is not worth mentioning!

But then again I don't watch bad movies, except by accident like today!

reply

I caught this movie on cable tonight, and being a fan of Naomi Watts (even thought I still haven't completely forgiven her for Ring 2) I decided to watch it. If I like a particular actor/actress, I'll see every movie they're in, even if they're really bad movies. I am sorry, but I couldn't watch this pile of trash longer than 20 minutes. It's not the worst movie ever, but it has to be one of the worst at least in that year. That's two strikes for Naomi in my books; I'm afraid if there's a third one I might start avoiding her movies for good. The Shaft was just too much.

The third would be "Stay" :o)

You're right :( "Stay" was painful to watch. I'll give Naomi another chance though.

"Stay" is a thinking person's horror movie, sorry if you didn't enjoy it. Yes it's slow moving but is shot with a decided realistic approach that works. One of those movies you have to be in the mood for.

No the worst movie ever is without a doubt "The Break-Up" with Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn.

reply

how does that make someone a hypocrite?

BWP was revolutionary. this movie was pathetic and poorly written and directed (by which I mean the film itself had no direction... people who should have lived, died, people who should have died, didn't... there was no rhyme or reason, it was wholly unbelieveable on any level, and there was no resolution for numerous characters at the end!)

reply

Well, I wouldn't call BWP revolutionary - it's pretty much just a socially acceptable Cannibal Holocaust. I enjoyed it greatly, though. This film was stupidly funny, at least, and occasionally that seemed intentional, even. Good enough for me.

reply

Do you even know what a hypocrite is? They are not hypocrites, but they haven't seen so many movies. It was far from being the worst movie ever.

reply

This movie's not very good, but it's far from the worst ever. Perhaps we shouldn't condemn the original poster for trying to expand the usual IMDB vocabulary of calling anyone who shares a different opinion a "retard." But then again, we should never encourage bad grammar.

reply

I love the idea of acknowledging creative insults!

Last night I have seen the movie and indeed, it may not be the worst movie ever - haven't you seen "Road House"? - but it is pretty bad. The story develops too fast and not a bit consistent, acting is reaaly bad. I quite like Ron Pearlman's acting (especially in "The Name of the Rose": Salvatore stupido, stupido. Me sava nada. Ich bin good catholico)bad here he seems bored and pissed to act in a c-grade movie (is there a d-category anyway?)

reply

Haven't seen this movie, but it's a remake from his own movie "De Lift", which has Dutch characters. It's really great, so SEE THIS ONE!!!!! Also see "Amsterdamned", also in Dutch and even better!!

reply

How is someone expressing their dislike for a movie(Which in my opinion, is one crappy movie.) a hypocrite? Seems like you have other people who dislike this movie, confused with yourself, seeing as how YOU are the one who's acting like a hypocrite.

reply

This is the worst film ever.

reply

I just saw this on cable (titled the Shaft)and I have to agree, that it was pretty badevenfor a B-movie. I was shocked that the acting was SO bad, because there was a talented cast.
I almost turned this off, but watched it through( because there wasn't anything else on) only to be disappointed. Truly awful!

Sorry to all of you who liked it, but everyone has the right to like or dislike ANY film, so take it easy on those who don't share your opinions.

reply

Terrible movie.
Bad acting.
Bad dialog.
Stupid premise, a killer elevator?
Avoid like the plague.

Couldn't agree more.
Absolute garbage. I really like Naomi Watts and Ironsides too...so this was a shame.
A failure on every level.

reply

how does that make someone a hypocrite. by what information are you comparing "what" to???

reply

I've saw too many crap movies. But I could had give this some credit if it was b-movie. But look out the cast:

Naomi Watts
Ron Pearlman
Dan Hedeya
Michael Ironside
Edward Herrmann

Yeah, right. It was one of those bottom of the bottom. Poor script, poor directing and most part poor acting too.

But you are right one thing. This ain't worst movie ever made, but it's not far of it.

reply

I just saw this under the title "The Shaft" and I agree. The acting is straight out of a reality show.Even drama class students aren't this bad.You would think these actors had never be cast in anything before.Still I had a good time watching it.I couldn't believe they killed a dog. That just doesn't happen in movies.Plus he was a service dog! The skater's death alone is worth watching the movie for.
