Why is that? Is it really a good recommendation for all of these? Or is it because this movie has so many 'plot keywords' and thus it seems to be similar to all of these movies? If so, does it really need all of those keywords (more than 450)?

...just curious...

reply

Very good list...
You can add Kite to it, just between Akira and Kill Bill.

Rob, my son, it's a lion and it's cute !!!That's what he said

reply

Um, no you can't add kite as it can't recommend itself. I think you missed the point of this thread.

reply

Yeah it's really starting to get annoying

reply

Probably just a lot of plot keywords, cause this movie is so much more different and disturbing than anything on that list.

The cake is a lie..."

reply

Hum, it is as disturbing as anything else in the list cos it's an anime.
Think about Taxi Driver.
Not disturbing?
And what about Bad Lieutenant or 1900?

Good list, and Kite can be added EASILY to it.

Rob, my son, it's a lion and it's cute !!!That's what he said

reply

I was wondering the same thing myself. It must be because of the all the keywords. But its strange that its still recomended even though its not even that highly rated. I think I might rent it because its recomended so much.

They were gonna make me a major for this, and I wasn't even in their *beep* army anymore.

reply

no wonder.
just look at the movie keywords

Batoru Rowaiaru II: is known as Battle Royale II in the west. Great film but not a patch in Battle Royale. Totally Original. Unless someone knows different.

reply

Certainly an exhaustive list of keywords, I feel like I've seen it just by reading those.

reply

don't know if that is a compliment or not, but thanks! I figured for all you that don't want to watch all those flicks, I would give you a simple rundown! Besides I had seen just about all of them, good luck to you all. And yeah it was a little long but I thought it was easier than you all having to watch them all. Granted my tastes aren't everything, but I was pretty general. Give them a try anyway.

reply

I was thinkng the same thign! I had never heard of this movie until a few days ago and then I started seeing on EVERY movie page I visited on IMDB!

Yes, this film is incredibly annoying. The IMDB database recommendation system is pretty awful, but the consistent presence of this film turning up is a complete joke, I will watch it, and no doubt it will be crap though. There should be a system where users recommend titles.

reply

Yes, it makes me angry too; I feel like the creators of "Kite" must have paid IMDB for such exhaustive promotion. Almost every film I look up, concludes with a recommendation that I see "Kite."

These recommendations are based on me liking various movies that often have no cinematic or plot similarities. This is causing me to doubt the validity of other recommendations.

I'm not buying into it, and therefore am boycotting this film until someone I know and trusts tells me that it is worth my time.
