You're so right!! As much as I adore Hugh Jackman, the main thing I do remember about this movie (apart from scene with him in his boxers - yum) is his nose getting in the way at the end. ha ha.

HAHAHA yes ,the worst kiss in the history of hollywood,i totally agree...i don't understand why the director did not made the scene again,i loved the movie anyway....and Ashley,..what a woman,..why there isn't more women like her?..

i remember seeing this film at the cinemas when it came out, and lots of people (including my sister) were laughing out loud about the fact that hugh jackmans nose kept getting in the way of them trying to kiss.

it was pretty funny and loods quite awkward. that said, hugh j is so hot.

Be honest, first kisses can be awkward. All that pent up emotion coming to the surface, coming together in excitement. It looked like real life. I love big noses on men, it runs in my family. I love when he lifts her off the ground. My big strong Hugh!

The kiss they share in the alternate ending is way hot, although hugh jackman could make out with a potato and i'd still think it was pretty hot.

I totally agree. Though I didn't really feel the chemistry between Ashley and Hugh I totally didn't like the kiss. But Hugh Jackman was soooo hott even though his nose was looking pretty big in that scene....lol

Yeah, his nose made it a little awkward, but I don't think I'd say it was THE WORST kiss ever. I mean, if you want to see bad...you should see the scene when Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese do it in The Terminator. Awesome movie (one of the greats, for sure), but that has got to be the most unsexiest sex scene ever.

I don't think the bad kiss is Hugh Jackman's fault. I think it's Ashley Judd. Notice when she's kissing Ray (Greg Kinnear) ~ it's like she won't open her mouth and really "get into it"...like she's refusing to kiss in a sensual way.

What do you think?

I believed the chemistry between Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd. But I think Greg Kinnear was much better at kissing on-screen and he and Ashley Judd seemed better suited for each other. But that was the point, wasn't it? After all, he cheated on Diane for quite a while with Ashley and had a hard time breaking up with Ashley. They were so in tune with each other that it made the situation even more tragic when he just bailed.
Hugh Jackman just kept hanging around in the background, livin' the vida loca, watching Ashley Judd suffer and trying to be that pal. Except he was falling in love with her. I thought it was a sweet love story that was totally believable.
Until the end! Why did he get into the cab and take off when she 'came clean' about that phoney advice for the lovelorn? I didn't think he would even take any of what she said personally. It seemed contrived by the scriptwriter just to put them both on the street for that awkward kiss.

I thought it was horrible as well but I don't think it was Hugh's nose that was the problem.

In my opinion, it turned out the way it did because, one, he wouldn't quit turning his head from side to side (yeah, I know it's natural but he overdid it in my opinion) and, two, Ashley was too tense.

I just rewatched this movie after a couple of years. Yeah the kiss did kinda suck. I think Hugh did a pretty terrible job, but I wouldn't blame him. The director should have asked them to do it better/differently or something. I mean, if that was the best of the takes, I'd actually be really curious at how much worse some of the other takes might have been!

It is a shame, because I've seen Hugh have amazing on-screen kisses. You should check out his kiss at the end of a movie called Paperback Hero. In contrast to this being a "worst kiss", the kiss in that movie is a "best kiss". It's smoldering and soooo hot and sensual! So I KNOW Hugh can kiss wonderfully on-screen and I don't know why the kiss in this movie sucked so much.
