Is this director crazy?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I can't believe this director made a movie like this. I'm not talking about the actress that was naked in bed. I mean she played a 15 year old but in real life she was 19. What I'm talking about is the young girl. She was only 13 for crying out loud!!! What kind of person films a 13 year old nude?!?! I'm not talking about no typical little kid butt shot either. I'm talking about one of the most modest parts of a woman's body. Her breasts. And what really got to me was the fact that we had to see this young girl's breasts during the rape scene. Who the hell knows what the actor who played the rapist was really thinking while filming. He could've been a damn pedo in real life for all we know. God, sometimes these movies make me sick. No wonder this film is so controversial. That director should be ashamed of herself!!! Poor little girl!!!!

Both Girls in the movie were underage. Even the one that was naked for a lot of the movie. I'm not sure where people got the idea she was 19 when she made the movie considering she was born in 1986 and the movie was released in 2001. That would mean she was 15 when the movie came out and could even have been 14 during filming.

I know this is a foreign film and i am not calling it child porn of any sorts because it was a well made movie. But I was wondering what is the legal age in France to be filmed nude in a sex scene and shown to the public and was the director hassled for the choice she made to use actual kids rather than here in North America where they get adults to play high school students in movies (ex: Shannon Elizabeth nude scene in American Pie).

what are you talking about? she was born in 1981.

18 for pornography. If it's not pornography then there is no age, there are plenty of French movies with people under 18 in sexual scenes.

I saw Japan being mentioned in the thread, what is legal there is much more disturbing than what comes from France !

This is one sane remark I have seen in discussion. Child nudity is just plain wrong, and it should be discouraged.
Things like nudity and rape may be seen as natural or reality, but they are not. Trust me they are not. Everyone here knows it but some don't want to acknowledge it since they are sitting on their high horse. The director may be crazy but he is very intelligent. He has used such "unnatural" sequences as a shock factor to attract comments and discussion, and he is successful.
A number of european movies go this way, and people with low IQ are plenty impressed, due to the imagery and shock value. And a false sense of superiority over their north american cousins. But this is just baloney, in reality nudity is just an excuse to satisfy their perverted tendencies, making it socially acceptable in movies (and in real life) is just false pretense.
A number of european cultural outbursts engaged in such behavior in past (remember romans?), but failed miserably to sustain. It is clear where they are headed again.

Romans? You mean the culture that survived more than thousand years and its legacy is still present as the base of most modern cultures (from language to law, from /final/ religion to politics)? Yeah, this is really a good example of "miserably failing to sustain"...

Child porn. *beep* I won't detail for you what it is but have you ever seen an adult movie? Imagine the men the same age but the girls between 4-12.

This film is not CP and until "America" comes to terms with casual nudity it will continually have people shooting each other in the streets. The relation? Everyone is too damn stressed about things they should not be stressed about. Stress overload! So all it takes is a little push and they walk into a church, a mall, a workplace and start killing.

America needs to chill!

I don't care it's been more than ten years since you posted, I had to comment...

To answer your question of "who would film a mud 13 year old"....
