Yeah, its been going on since 1999. The first 40 seasons were amazing and fun to watch, but then it went woke in season 41 and hasn't been the same since.

That's about right. I stopped halfway through the season a couple years ago where it was declared that voting off a black person for any reason is racist, and nobody pushed back on that. I said fuck it at that point.

No clue. I assumed it was due to pronunciations from whatever language the name comes from, but I don't know. I watch with the captions on and I still always think of him as "Yam Yam" with a Y sound. :)

Well this actually ended up being a sort of interesting season. All the freaks and weirdos basically banded together and got rid of the good players one by one. And the producers stacked the show with outcasts so this was sort of inevitable. This was easily the most "engineered" season i've seen yet. It wasn't actually enjoyable to watch, but it was interesting to see play out. This show almost feels more like some kind of CIA experiment now. I ain't gonna lie, he was annoying as hell at first but even I started to like Yam Yam after a while.

JamJam was awesome in final Tribal. He definitely got more serious and poignant when he started realizing he had a real shot at this. He's literally making the jury laugh. That's huge. Crazy Lady Carolyn, who I feel bad for, clearly has all sorts of issues and simply can't relate to people. She was never actually in this. There's definitely been a shift in the show which has to be producer interference where jurys are no longer allowed to be angry and vengeful. Everybody's just happy as beans to have been voted out. Total BS. I don't remember huge moves but whatevs. I swear to the Lloyd, the rope on the wire challenge has never been so thin. Record Time! No doubt. You used to have to cook that fire for 30 damn minutes. 3 minutes? What a joke. I don't get that cause it's all edited in the end anyhow. (I also laugh my ass off every time they make a big deal about 23 Days! What? And fat fed the whole time? People used to starve so hard in this show they passed out and fell into the fire.) Wow. Immigrant speech for the win. Nobody cared. Interesting throw down. I think in the end they just like Jammy best. Nobody made any big moves. This was a pure personality contest.

Non-Hispanic whites are only 60% of the U.S. population now. It's not egregiously far off.

By the numbers it should be 11 whites and 7 other. So it's only 4 off.

And it's legitimate that every group be represented.

The producers are basically saying 60% of the population is a minority and 16% is gay. Out of 18 people, 3 were gay. Although I am on the fence about Carson.

The past 3 of 4 winners are minorities. This trend will continue until Survivor is cancelled which I hope is soon.

32 of the previous 40 winners are Non-Hispanic whites.

The past 4 seasons of Survivor have had the exact same ratio. 11 minorities and 7 whites. Also the past 4 seasons has seen more gay and trannies than the previous 40 seasons.

Well according to a new Gallup poll, 20% of the population is LGBT so we're underrepresented there.

I've never watched it or only seen parts of it. Is this the one where all the fat slobs run around naked?

Gallup is the most respected polling organization in the U.S., goober.

Yeah sorry to say, everyone under 25 isnt the entire population. Most Survivor cast members are on average way higher than 25 anyway, so this silly little poll has barely any relevance.

LGBT is more acceptable in that age group so they're more honest with pollsters.

Earth to Breeder: We've always been over 20%. The entire population is over 20%, all age groups. Older people just keep it secret.

You have a Gallup poll saying 20% of Gen Z is gay. The notion that older people are in the closet, lying about their sexuality is your false assumption that isn't based on fact.

There was nothing wrong regarding diversity with Survivor seasons 1 to 40.

Black people are 13% of the US population and there was always 2 to 3 black contestants on every season before the new era. Which is roughly 10-16% of all survivors depending on the total amount of players on each season.

Black players also won 4 out of 40 season, so 10% which is not so far from 13%.

As for many things, the perception is skewed and now the supposed "fix" is actually not representative of reality.
