Who else hated Leo's accent
It was horrible one moment he would sound Irish and the next American fml it was terrible same with Cameron

I always find it funny that when Leo does an accent, the people from the place his accent is from think it works. But people like you think its phony. What's wrong. Sound to foreign for you?

shareActually so am I and it would make no difference at all. The accent is not 21st century Irish. It's a New York Irish accent from the time.
It was a dead accent that no longer exists in real life.
He learned it from listening to old radio disks of comic hall entertainers in there 80's and 90's when the disks were made in the early days of radio to get an idea what the accent would have sounded like in there childhood. He also read lots of books that were written in the vernacular of the time, much in the same way that Trainspotting by Irvin Welsh is written in the vernacular of 80's Edinburgh.
But because this could not give him everything he needed he filled the spaces with New York Irish.
