Bien envoyé, Alleuze ! Cet analphabète devrait en effet se défenestrer plutôt que faire étalage de son ignorance crasse (confondre accent et langue, il faut être dans la cave du QI pour le faire!).

And now, without the French "accent" (as the OP was saying):

Well said, Alleuze! That illiterate should indeed jump out of the window instead of exhibiting his crass ignorance (to confound accent and language, one must stay in the IQ basement to make it!.

Well, reading the OP's message, I realize more than ever that dumb Hollywood movies actually have the audience they need. And please, don't make it a syllogism: not all Hollywood movies are dumb ! But Hollywood sure produces its fair share of s**t....

And please, Hollywood, don't do a re-make of that gem! I simply can't imagine how the magic of "Amélie" could possibly be emulated. There is too much French organic matter in that movie to be properly translated into an Americanized story. Even dubbing it would steal much of its essence.

Instead of dubbing, learn the basics of the language ! It's the key to a treasure trove of fascinating discoveries. I did learn English and I am thankful for it, as it gave me access to so many extraordinary works of art.

"Throw" (instead of "through"), you mean :-)

I guess French is his first language, but that he didn't do that well at school, and now he hates it including all dialects and accents. His English teacher must have told him that in English one uses commas a lot.

That poor window!

Hahaha, Thanks for making my day, man.

You only show how much of a navel-gazer you are, completely lacking any openness to the rest of the world. In my experience this social defect shows more in USAmericans than in other peoples. On top of that you don't even use your own language properly.
Maybe you should learn some French instead of complaining about it. I speak (more or less) five languages, the last one I learned is Italian. It's a much greater pleasure to watch an Italian film without having to rely on subtitles (or, God forbid, dubbing).

Your IMDB profile doesn't say you're Egyptian (in fact it doesn't say a thing), don't expect me to roam half of the 'Net to find out you are.

But since you're Egyptian you must know what it's like to be in a minority language as far as film is concerned. Now this is another minority language film.
But it's French all the way, and the language is an important part of that. That's why I don't recommend watching a dubbed version (if there exists one). And I don't understand how you can love it when the language irritates you.

I don't think I've ever met someone that didn't enjoy listening to the French language. It's inconceivable to me.

reply

Then what stopped you?

reply

Actually French is a lovely language to listen to.
I speak English, German, Russian, Serbian (and hence almost all Slavic languages) and a bit of French myself and can easily tell that French is the most beautiful sounding language out of these if spoken by a native.
