Similar shows?

Has anybody watched any similar shows to Roswell? It doesn't have to be about aliens, just the max/liz aspect, the mystery and or sci-fi aspect along with the humour and drama that made Roswell the show it was.

Granted, season 3 was a little silly but season 1 and 2 were so great, the first season still makes me giddy when I watch the first few scenes in the cafe.

I have researched them all, and none of them tickle my fancy (Tho I am a huge Buffy/Lost fan). Guess Roswell was just one of a kind!

Kyle XY was awesome. Season 1 was really great. Season 2 was pretty good too but not as good as season 1. Kyle and Amanda are super cute and there's the whole alien thing going on too. This show is pretty similar to Roswell. Not quite as epic but very entertaining.

Buffy's first three seasons, when she's in her "star-crossed lovers" relationship with Angel is the closest to a Max/Liz feel. The show isn't as engrossed in the romantic relationship as Roswell, but it had a similar vibe.

I know it's much maligned (and I haven't seen it, so take my rec with a grain of salt), but the Twilight series feels as though it was kind of lifted from Roswell. Others mentioned this similarity back in 2008:

Imho Roswell is a unique show in its mixture at least for the most part
of the first season and a couple mini-arcs in S2 and even one or the other
ep in S3. It took some wrong turns along the way and played to much the
standart teen drama card before it then nosedove deep into soupland in the
last season.
The main problem with this show was lack of continuity of the story (and style) and later the scripting was very varyingly between good and absurd - and i mean
not intentionaly absurd.
In the end it felt like the writers left the (good) cast hanging high and dry.
Also the meddling with content behind the scene was to the shows disadvantage.

There's a new show on the CW channel that aired last night. The pilot repeats again tonight. It's called: Star-Crossed.
