That Jesse character was a horrible idea.
Season 3 was a lesson in what not to do.

Agreed. It was a terrible script decision. I like Adam Rodriguez but it was all so random and rushed. There was no build-up and Isabel was still so young. If they wanted to bring someone on for her character (be it Jesse or not) it should have been a natural dating process (especially after Alex) and not I fell in love with someone off camera and now we're getting married!!!! Married...the f|uck? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QDGLeokwdPE
It was all Mom and Dad aren't coming to my wedding-of course they don't want to come to your wedding-you're a teenager and they don't know your soon-to-be husband from a banana. What lazy writing.
They changed her character so drastically and it didn't make any sense. Even the hair was all wrong for me, she didn't look like Isabel. ( I also wanted Michael to have his signature spiky hair back but season 3 screwed that up too). She just comes back a choppy, brunette with a fiancé and we're supposed to follow. Not to mention her storyline was a mess. That honeymoon Kivar stuff was cringeworthy. It didn't work. Season 3 was a clusterf|uck in so many ways. I really like Roswell but it just seems like they didn't know what the hell they were doing a lot of the time ~
Rufio! Rufio! Ru-Fi-OOOOOOOOOOOOOh!
Yea, making season 3 all about her was so ridiculous. They did a 180 that last season. If you didn't watch any season besides the last. You would think she was the lead.

For me, Jesse as a character wasn't a bad idea... it was when and how they brought him in that I didn't like. If he was brought in during season two at some point, I think I could have at least a little okay with him being there.
I just don't see why they needed that arc for Isabel, in terms of a random love interest that the audience didn't get to see build up. I thought the arc with her and Kavar was interesting, but adding Jesse into the mix was messy. I understand that the actress wanted more, I just wish they didn't do that.
If she wanted Isabel to have a love interest, I'm with the majority on this one with her being with Kyle. It could have been interesting to see the two of them dating and even considering if they only liked each other because of their whole alien circle thing.
I don't know, I'm just wishful thinking, lol. Basically I didn't like Jesse's character because of the fact his storyline was so rushed.

Be Seeing You.
Yeah I thought Jesse was fine as a character but the plot should never have gone the way it did.
Having Isabelle graduate early and get married within a couple episodes of introducing him to the show was stupid. This show was a high school drama and forcing her to suddenly become an adult while the rest of the cast was still in school was uncomfortable to watch.
Keeping her in school and pairing her with Kyle definitely would have been more fun to watch. But even letting us watch her meet Jesse and seeing them slowly fall for each other would've been much better than making a new guy her husband when she should've still been heartbroken about Alex.
The entire storyline was a bit ridiculous. Kyle and Isabel would have been far more entertaining. Or they could have had Kivar there for a longer story arc
