What do you guys think of this movie?
I like to hear your thoughts on this.
shareMY DAUGHTER AND I OWN THIS ONE ON VHS...BUT WE HAVE YET TO WATCH IT.
shareIt looked like a bad idea and Drew Carey only accepted the project because he was being paid. They teased him about it for years on "Whose Line Is It Anyway?"
shareWell at least this movie wasn't the awful 2022 Disney live action remake.
shareNow that we can all agree on. For a brief time, the Wonderful World of Disney turned out at least one or two gems that you could watch on ABC on the weekends, but thankfully, even their worst stuff couldn't hold a candle to the studio's current turd offerings.
shareYeah. I even thought the 1997 Cinderella starring Brandy was actually pretty good. It's not one of their best offerings, but at least a lot of effort was put into the production and the music numbers. That being said, the live action Disney movies in the 90s weren't exactly quite as strong. The George of the Jungle one was good, but the others were either mediocre (101 Dalmatians) or just downright terrible (Mr. Magoo).
shareI have the Brandy Cinderella on DVD (as well as the 1960s version) and I also liked the 2003 version of "A Wrinkle in Time," far better than the one that came out a few years ago.
shareRobert Zemeckis just insists on cranking out one "uncanny valley" movie after another. They just turn out creepy.
shareI didn't think the movie was terrible. I liked the songs a lot and that things were told in the perspective of Geppetto. But I just thought the design of Pinocchio was creepy. They were better off with CGI or puppetry. To have a boy wear makeup to make him look wooden was just very off.
shareI agree on the makeup of Pinocchio being creepy. Plus the actor who played Pinocchio was very shrill. Like he wasn't godawful or anything, but maybe it was the directing.
