Happiest Ending Ever?

I think this movie has the happiest ending ever. Or are there others?

i didn't pay too much attention to the sappy ending, but did jim caviezel have his girlfriend? Or was it just his mom and dad and his rich friend gordo? if so thats not too happy for me.

reply

Yes, he was actually married to his girlfriend, and you could see she was pregnant with their second child.

But is this the happiest ending of a movie, I don't think so. Some that come to mind in similar fashion were The Sandlot, 13 Going on 30, Big, Second Hand Lions, The Black Stallion, Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Signs.

At the end of The Sandlot he tells how all of his buddies and their friendships faded away. Not happy.

Every character (except for the one bad guy who gets killed) in Frequency has an extremely happy ending. Everyone is shown to have a perfect life while an incredible cheesy song plays.

Exactly my thoughts on both counts.

Love Story! :)

I'd add The Devil's Advocate to the list.

The Shawshank Redemption for me had the happiest ending ever. Rudy is up there as well.

"It's a Wonderful Life" was very feel-good.

So were "Fisher King", "Return of the Jedi", and Kenneth Branagh's take on "Much Ado About Nothing".

The Ewoks survived Return of the Jedi - sad ending ;)

I wouldn't know about this movie being the happiest ending ever. Remember, the killer got away from Frank in the past, and Frank had to finish him off at the present. It's possible there were a few extra deaths involved.

But it was a mostly happy ending.

Anyway, my picks for the happiest ending ever goes to these movies. Back to the Future (Parts I and III), The Karate Kid (Both movies), Most Frank Capra movies (My personal favorites being It Happened One Night and You Can't Take it With You), a few Pixar movies, and Inception (Or is it?).

So you're my uncle Joey. Better get used to these bars, kid.

I thought Timeline had a happy ending, even though some people died. I love time travel or crossover movies. I also enjoyed Deja Vu with Denzel Washington and thought it had a good ending.

I think that Despicable Me has the happiest ending ever!

Jump? Are you INSANE?!

Yeah... I had seen "The Butterfly Effect" with a similar plot but not a good ending. While watching this one I was afraid this one might be similar. But thank god this one had a better ending... :)

There have been many movies with extremely happy endings and this is one of them. I loved it.

reply

May not have been the happiest, but it was definitely the sappiest. I still love the movie, though. One of my favorites.

I believe in Steve Austin and his plan to put a casino on the moon

I'm dying to listen to your answer. Cheers! filmklassik

I second the post that said 'The Shawshank Redemption.' The ending was literally perfect in every way.
