I my dad took our whole family to this in the theatre when it came out. I was 11. I knew nothing about it. I came out saying it was my new favourite movie. Nine years later and it's still Top-20 and I'm a film fanatic. I think my whole family would probably put it in their Top-20s at the least.

Take my advice. Watch "Stella". It's hysterical. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443409/

I agree that this has to be one of the most under-rated, under-appreciated movies of all time.

So many people I've shared my copy of the DVD with said they not only never saw it, they've never even heard of it. But when they give me my DVD back, the result is always the same. "What a great movie!!" "Why have I never heard of this?" or "Where was I when this was in the cinema?!" are comments I always get with the returned disc.

I remember it coming out around the time Gladiator did, and somewhat before X-men in 2000, it's too bad they didn't push its marketing much harder, those movies tended to get all the hype and press...and significantly more marketing dollars. I guess the good news is that it made a pile of money in DVD sales and DVD rentals (too bad imdb only gives the rental index now, instead of the actual dollar amounts like it used to) when renting was still such a great money-making form. But a smart and intense movie like this should have set the theatrical box office on fire when it first hit the big screen.

I'll still keep recommending this movie to people I know that haven't seen it. A movie this good shouldn't be a "best kept secret."

Butterfly Effect , Frequency , Donnie Darko though deal with the time travel and the concepts of Chaos Theory and the Tangent Universe theory still all are good movies one their own . You can't compare them all we can do is love watching all of them .

A remarkable film, certainly entertainment at the highest level. Terrific cast and a thoughtful story-line. To be honest, I was mesmerized by Jules Sullivan throughout the film. What a beauty! Both Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel were true to their respective characters and magnified a strong father-son relationship. Noah Emmerich, Shawn Doyle and Andre Braugher seem to relish "character" roles and add to the film.

I have to agree after seeing this again today for probably the 15th time (I own the DVD as well) that this is such a fabulous sleeper of a movie. What a surprise, what a find! So moving.

Shawn Doyle in this role as pre-Joey on Big Love is terrific as are all the cast.

One of my favorities too. I'm a sucker for the time travel fantasy genre, plus my father, a former cop, was a big ham radio operator and he and my brother would converse by radio regularly back around the early 70's.

I totally agree, one of my all time favorite Films

Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia!

Yes, that's for sure. Criminally underrated, and underVIEWED. It depresses me that no one from today's generation that i know of had seen this. This generation is missing a lot of good movies, great things that can be enjoyed without emo-ing out or having the insane desire to get the next best computer or iPhone, ipod or any of that material BS the modern world is shoving down our throats.

This is one of the best movies I've seen, and it reminds me a lot about my own family. This film just gets to me every time I see it. I'm looking forward to having it on DVD since I rarely get to catch it on TV.

when i first saw this movie i didn't think much of it. but then i saw it again last night and was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful the film actually is (i'm not a fan of that cheesy ending, though, where they're all playing baseball in slow motion, heh).
