Irresponsible Scene - DANGER

The scene where they show the kids in a huge snow dug out/cave.

If imitated by kids who thought that would be cool, it is extremely dangerous and can cause fatality. The snow can easily cave in and cause smothering.

THANKS MOM!!!!

Since we can't change the movie industry, perhaps we should do the obvious common sense thing of watching movies WITH our kids instead of them just watching whatever. That way we can discuss what we might find dangerous or inappropriate so they know why.

Timmy: Wow! That was awesome! I want to build one of those!
Mom: Snow is really soft and it might cave in and bury you.
Timmy: But mom, they did it!
Mom: Yeah, and they also had a lot of adults right there with them and it was probably actually made of Styrofoam that wouldn't cave in. Movies are make believe, Timmy and aren't always as they appear to be.

Or something to that effect.

All the same, this is one of my favorite movies.

GET A LIFE!

OHH! You could fall down and hurt yourself while ice skating.

OHH! You might go airborne and hurt yourself while sledding!

OHH! You might strain yourself attempting to lift a heavy snowball while
making a snowman.

Again I say, "GET A LIFE!"

Going out and playing in the snow is fun!

Growing up in the Midwest in the 60's and 70's we built snow caves and we reinforced them with cardboard boxes and scrap plywood. The adults were happy we were outside having having fun, working off excess energy and not inside driving them crazy.

To this very day I enjoy playing in the snow by going downhill skiing and ice skating.

That's very dangerous for someone your age.

'Extremely dangerous'? I doubt it. I made them, my brother made them. We played in them and camped out in them. NEVER had it cave in. Why would it? What do you foresee making it cave in? Maybe if Gordo walked over it...or Rodan dive bombed it.... when we were done we'd stomp and jump on it to make it cave in and that took a lot of effort. I suggest you quit making stuff up to be upset about.

I loved making small snow tunnels and caves, so much fun.

What's irresponsible is making it seem like creating a cave of that size and detail only takes a couple of hours. Kids beware -- it will take at least one full day. Oh, and don't build it in the street like these kids.

If you don't have kids, you should.
And I totally applaud your protective instincts.
You're beautiful Dude, ignore the rest.
