I did.

A tear or two every time...

So I'm not a guy, but I didn't cry at all during this movie, and I usually cry pretty easily at movies. Do I have to be a guy who has a brother to really get it?

I only do it with superheroes.

reply

i did, too.

I did. The 2 main times that seem to be mentioned. The war stories in the bar and the sitting with the Priest at the cemetary. Anytime an old man is crying about something that geniune, it is hard not to be touched

me too. good heartfelt movie with real emotion.

Did you ever notice that people who believe in creationism look really un-evolved? - Bill Hicks

reply

I did. A really great and sensitive story. A must see.

reply

Of course. Just because we're supposed to repress emotions doesn't mean we don't have them.

I just skipped the entire thread so I apologize if I am repeating anyone.

The diner scene where he describes the war situation. I rewound that many a time and teared up just the same.

reply

Yep, when Lyle saw Alvin's form of transport I teared up when he teared up.

Richard Farnsworth gives an incredible performance in this. The scene that made me tear up was when he described his daughter losing her children. The ending also is incredible. It's such a great movie. A true character study. Nothing fancy or groundbreaking but it's better than 99% of the crap hollywood pumps out these days.

Many times!
