This Movie Is Terrible
I was young when I saw it. It was the only movie I ever slept through in the theatres! Why do you guys like it so much?
Person:A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Me:Whoops.

Terrible? Au contraire! 'Spirit' is a sad but inspiring tale. The movie transport us into a world already lost. A world where native-americans as the mustangs they used to ride were free. Like "Dances with Wolves" the movie also shows us how come those native nations were almost completely exterminated by the white invaders.
It's quite ironic but since USA was founded the politicians have been talking about "freedom" but at the same time they kept as slaves an important portion of their own countrymen (african-americans) and massacred native-americans routinely. Talking about hypocrisy.
This is a beautiful film with a very important message.
I think this film is beautiful. Quite an ambitious and mature film, but the animation is simply spellbinding, the music is lovely and the messages the film conveys are admirable. The story isn't always compelling, but there are some effective parts like the scene with the train and Spirit and Rain's romance was cute.

I respect everyone's opinons here, but I'm sorry. When I first saw this, I didn't like it. It was more like a copycat of Babmi but with a horse. The advertising was the biggest flaw. It presented it as a cute and warmful feature and in a way cheated the audience in not showing the harsher and gritty tone that is in it. It was dark, unfriendly, and too mature for a young audience. It did have it's light moments, but it didn't do anything to impress me.
I'm aware of the people that appreciate this feature and respect how much they like this. But I'm not one of those. I apologize for my comments, but that is how I feel about this one. It's visually stunning but not engaging to my taste.

What?! copycat of Bambi, how so? To me it wasn't like Bambi at all.

Dark and Gritty huh... After watching Watership Down, this film is tame compared to that. Granted it's been a while since I watched the film, but It hardly seem dark. I've seen loads of kids films much darker than this and I turned out fine.
