what? the horses don't talk???

when i went to see it, i thought the horses were gonna talk. they didn't and this made the movie boring. DON'T MAKE AN ANIMATED MOVIE ABOUT ANIMALS IF THEY DON'T TALK!!!!!

i loved this movie!! it was so nice to see something that portrayed the true character of the horse instead of making it into some cute talking disney animal. when you look at the unique character of each horse and see their personality reflected in their actions and the sounds that they make, you are seeing what every person who has a close relationship with a horse sees everyday (including me). this film reflects everything i see in my horses (and others obviously) and gives me a feeling of joy that someone has finally portrayed a true description of horses. :):):):):)

unfortunately, what i want you can't give.

Everyone seems to think that because it is an animated film its a Disney film and the animals have to talk. That doesn't have to be the case. I admit that when I walked into the theater that I thought it was unusual that the characters didn't talk, but I thought that the film was better because of it. I think that the message of the story was got across very well through the characters reactions and pyshical movements. Since that was the case, the audience had to pay attention to the animation and this put you into the story more than if you were "told" by the characters. You actually had to pay attention to the minute details and work to understand the story. I know, crazy isn't it! Just because an animated character doesn't talk doesn't mean the film is a failure, if nothing else it is a wonderful change of pace.

Come on, man...

Personally I don't think animals really "talk" in animated movies... it's just as if we just understand them. Take "The Lion King".

or at the dinosaurs in Fantasia.
Personally I find it amazing that all the horse sounds in the movie were real.

Supermodels...spoiled stupid little stick figures mit poofy lips who sink only about zemselves.

I dont think the horses should've talked in this movie. The movie is very down to earth and very dramatic. I mean you have Matt Damon, he is the voice of Spirit liked translated from "horse language" to English. Seeing their expressions and body language is much better because you can understand animals better.

I totally agree with 'wazupducci2003', I thought the expressions done in this movie were excellent and this is one of my favourite movie. I cant believe it got so much less votes in IMDB.

reply

Yeah it was very easy to tell what the horses were thinking :) finally a film with no talking animals! And no sing songs!

reply

I thought I wouldn't like the movie without the talking, but I liked a lot =)
It's actually better then you can imagine!

reply

What made it even better is that the horses (or at least Spirit) had eyebrows! How cool is that?

That's EXACTLY one of the reasons why I love this movie.
I was getting tired of animals talking. The emotions were much
more intense and realistic through the horses' actions and facial expressions.

but i loved this movie because the animals didnt talk i liked seeing like how animals think when were around them and how they think in real life thats wat made this so great.
