Does the rape scene seem a bit gratuitous?

That maybe Mr Verhoven made that scene particularly for the adolescents and pervy audience to masturbate over, and that perhaps he was going just a bit too far with that scene? I didn't see any strong moral or ethical meaning behind it, I just think it was soft-core rape porn.

Not that I'm complaining, Rhona Mitra is hot.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX??????

I sure as hell would be tempted to do such a thing

Now that is disturbing. So you would rape someone if you would get away with it? No wonder we have a problem with rape in this country. If so many men think as you do, it's disgusting and I want nothing to do with them.

Imagine if Bacon's character was less aggressive and just watched her from the corner of her bedroom, beating off as quietly as possible, 'shhhh'-ing himself when he makes too much noise, wiping himself on her wall and carpet, and then returning to the lab to greet his young scientist friends the next morning.

Bacon has made a career of portraying sex pests, Hollow Man may be his most violent, but in The Woodsman and Sleepers he enjoys young kids. What's your favourite Bacon sexual predator role?

No. It confirmed to me where his head was at; he'd been seduced by power, and needed to be stopped.

I hated that the poor girl is already a damaged victim of Caine's action, no one will know that he didn't just "scared" her as he put it. She was raped, it is a crime and the fact he got away with it makes it even more sickening cause none of those sciences geeks know what he did.

He wasn't specifically punished for that particular crime, but he was ultimately punished with death when he was killed at the end. So I guess there's some comfort in that.

Too be honest I can't blame Sebastion much she was smoking hott with the nicest pair of knockers I have ever seen.

This thread totally disgusts me.

Men saying they 'don't blame Sebastian/I would do the same' or 'she had it coming'. I never say things like this but, please, kill yourselves. I wonder how you would feel if someone raped your wife, daughter, mother, female friend or relative. Rape is serious and damages people for life! You wonder why women are so untrusting and scared of men..look at what the hell you are saying. No one deserves to be raped. Just because a woman chooses to dress a certain way doesn't invite other men to take advantage of her. That's victim blaming you sick sorry excuses for human beings.

'any guy would do that', what a load of bull. You and "men" of your ilk are pigs and deserve the worst kind of karma. Sebastian is the man, yeah the rapist who murders people and a dog...he's so awesome. That's why he dies at the end.

Yeah, he shouldn't have killed that dog. That was wrong.

You can cry about it all you want but yes any guy would do that and they would be lying if they said otherwise. No one would be a moral upstanding citizen if they were invisible that is simply a fact.

The rape scene is the highlight of this piece of crap movie. I wish Sebastian would have gone more into the pervert direction and made him continue more and more sexual molestation. That seems much more realistic about what most guys would do if they were invisible. Instead they just made him turn into just another psycho killer. Yawn.
