Zodiac, I found the story more interesting. All the sex/drugs in SoS just annoyed me.
shareall the sex/drugs in SoS made the film for me/

Zodiac was a bit slow for me but Summer of Sam never made me fall asleep!
shareI'm partial to Summer of Sam as I remember being a girl with long brown hair that grew up in NY. I can recall the hysteria everytime that guy killed someone, it was so random it was terrifying. Zodiac was great as well, but I give my vote to Sam.

I'm a New Yorker from that time. I have to say Summer of Sam only because he caught the fear and paranoia of the times along with all the othr weird incidents that went on in that year. (also, he ever so lightly touches on satanic cult involvement....)

And yet, Stacy Moskowitz, short blond hair was his last victim in BROOKLYN, somewhere where they figured he'd never even go to. I just think the whole thing with Moskowitz being blond was ironic (and sneaky too!). If he'd have gone on to kill, he'd have just picking more randomly than his usual fare. (although, I am of the mind of the Maury Terry school of thought on this case.)

Zodiac was fine. Don't see how people could call it boring, as these were true events and how they played out. He was more terrifying than Son of Sam because he was never caught.
Now, they need to do a movie on the Zebra Killings and we'd have our 70's serial killer Trilogy.

Summer of Sam is way better in my eyes, better story and better characters.

Zodiac was better in my opinion. I think it was the best movie of 2007. But they both captured similar killers in not so distant time periods. Summer of Sam was also great. The storylines also weren't that different, normal citizens taking it upon themselves to catch a serial killer.

Zodiac is the best movie when it comes to thriller.
Summer Of Sam is the best movie when it comes to not only the killer story but also the times that happen in new york in the summer of 77, the title might as well be called "Summer Of 77" because thats what the movie was all about.
Zodiac movie is all about the zodiac. SOS didn't really explain how he got into the killin, why he always target women, and what he do for a living other than killing women. again might as well the title be called "Summer Of 77" but that's just me, i love both films.

Zodiac
shareZodiac is one of my favorite films of the decade but I'm going to give the edge to Summer of Sam because of how unique it is. I like how it focuses on the community and the hysteria surrounding the killings. Zodiac is more of a straight-forward procedural.
