What a fantastic cast except...
I'm sick of Angelina Jolie. Talk about overexposed (and yes, I mean that every way possible).

I totally Disagree with samanthaseaotter, and anyone who thinks Angie did a bad job in this movie, being a huge tomb raider fan. Actually belonging to a family who loves this game , i dont see ANYONE else as Lara Croft then her. And its true, I never even knew who is Angelina Jolie before i saw her as Lara Croft, Love her since <3
She was the perfect Lara Croft for us and that made our standards sooo high that its hard to imagine or accept anyone else as LARA CROFT :)

Casting Angie is like taking silkily-voiced Keely Hawes and instead voicing Lara with one of the cast from Neighbours.
Jolie is just SOOOOOO wooden compared to what the game character has built up to.

Unfortunately, I did know - Mostly played slightly nutty weridos who think they're sultry, as per Hackers and Gone In Sixty Seconds.
Her best (and most appropriately cast) role was likely in Girl, Interrupted.

I'm no expert on casting, but there seem so many other actresses better suited to the character than Angie. You could perhaps only have done worse if you'd cast Megan Fox or Lindsay bloody Lohan!

What is wrong with you that you seem to want to hate on someone so much for doing, what you perceive to be, a sub-par job in their work? Calm the hell down.
I think the issue is that everyone knows Angie *could* have done better, but didn't.
Whether that's her fault, or how it was set up to be, who knows. We have only the end result to go on.

I understand quite a lot of gamers felt that she should have had the role, but I can't see the studio ever letting her mainline such a big movie at that time. Her public profile just wasn't big enough IMO.

However, I saw the movies before I actually played the game and even then I knew she only got the role so they'd have a big name attached to the production. I went in open-minded, but first thing I thought during the first half-hour of her on-screen time was that she's too naff to carry it.

Well she was running with Billie Bob Thornton at the time and was NAFF! But that didn't stop me from enjoying her in the role.
I think she did a good job, as did Chris Barrie and Noah Taylor as the men in her life.
What's quite funny as I only noticed it the other night when watching again; in some scenes you can quite clearly see at least one of her tattoos where the make-up disguising it either ran, or wasn't applied in sufficient quantities.
