HOLY GOD, this movie was awful. End of sentence. And Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of my favourite actresses! Horrible, horrible, HORRIBLE!

This little movie was unimpressive in many ways, but I enjoyed parts. Sarah M Gellar looked great with that hair. I saw it in HD yesterday.

Really? Worse than Gigli? Yikes. I've SEEN Gigli and that was truly one of the worst movies ever, mainly because it actually took itself seriously. Simply Irresistable is actually a movie I've seen at least four times. It has this strange appeal I can't quite put my finger on. It definitely has charm.

perhaps the magical realism would have worked a little better if the entire movie wasn't so "fluffy"....
reminded me to much of a horrible attempt at a modernization of "Like Water for Chocolate"...a novel and movie in which the Magical Realism actually works!!!

This really is one of the worst movies I've ever seen, if not THE worst.
Its only saving grace is the dreamy Sean Patrick Flanery!!!
But I mean, honestly....the enchanted crab that waves its little claw and performs magic? WHAT????
You have to understand something.
This is not Gone With the Wind, Immortal Beloved, or any other grand love story.

It's a cute film about a girl, a crab, and some magic in the kitchen.
They did a GREAT job with this. Yes; it's about 'magic'. If you don't believe in 'that ol' black-magic' -- fine. Neither do I. However, a good film will ask you to suspend reality for an hour and a half to hear the story told.
The only litmus-test is whether they told it well.
By that standard, they did. The characters were well-cast and believeable; the plot was fluffy, but endurable; the conclusion was predictable -- the guy gets the girl.
I liked it. Shoot me; I did....
I liked this movie as most others have seemed to as well. You aren't alone in that wdnoble-1. However, I and others would disagree that the story was told well. The transitions were clunky (or absent), the plot was makeshift, the character interactions rushed and the story didn't really have any cohesiveness. I believe that it is a testament to the ability of the cast, that inspite of it's flaws the characters were found very enduring by many who have watched this movie.
Movies don't always have to be "good" art to be enjoyable. But, it dose a disservice to ignore the "truth" of what a movie is or is not.
I have to say that I enjoyed it. It's cute and makes you smile. Of course it's extremely illogical and just can't happen, but aren't most romantic comedies like this anyway - made to make you feel good? Yes, it does remind me of Practical Magic, maybe simply because of the magic in it, but all in all it's a cute movie.
The movie is just simply irresistible. I love the movie, I have seen it already a couple of times. Then I was surfing on imdb and I was really stunned by the 4,6
This movie is so much better then a 4,6 it's just a sweet movie
