WORST MOVIE EVER. Yup, worse then Gigli.

God, at first i thought i might like this movie cuz i love sean patrick flanery and sarah michelle gellar and because i am a hopeless romantic but this movie was horrible. I think it was idiotic to have him freak out and blame it on her for the floating crap but still i would be freaked, but come on. It was pig headed. Then he acted like she was a witch and *beep* I didn't like that at all. What ever it sucked.

That's the OVERstatement of the YEAR, and it's only February! I have never scene a more terrible movie than "Gigli"! This movie at least keeps me watching. Gigli got me bored out of my mind in 5 minutes! I couldn't watch more than that. It's not the best, but it's NOT near the worst.

Watch it AGAIN. I hated it the first time I saw it and I was already a HUGE BTVS fan. I thought it was so bad, I did not even get past the first ten minutes.However. I have sicew seen it again and really liked it. MAybe because I was trying to get my Buffy fix, don't know, but I thought it was so sweet and cute and I am looking to buy it now. It's something I would watch on a lazy Saturday or Sunday evening with a bowl of ice cream. The magical realism has been done before. I think they were trying to do a youth-oriented "Like Water for Chocolate". Remember that book by Laura Esquivel? They eventually made a movie out of it. I believe that the Johnny Depp movie "Chocolat" also had the same sort of food centered magical realism. I agree it could have been a lot better, but the actors are adorable, and the idea is sweet. What really hurts it is the low, low budget look. I think SMG fans should buy it. SMG is way underrated for all the work that she has done in Hollywood and all the money that she has made for a LOT of people. It makes me so mad that people like Jessica Alba (who, don't get me wrong, seems very sweet)seem to get more respect than her.

I think you guys are expecting too much from this movie. It's not meant to be an oscar film or be a life-altering experience for the viewer, but it's just a cute, sweet, date-movie. Something you watch too get away from the harshness from all those dramas and suspenses.

I'm sorry I had to humiliate you like that. It's okay, you can hate me. Poor thing.

Yeah, the movie wuz pretty damn bad...To all the fanatics: Please don't shoot me, it's just my opinion.

I agree. 100%. This movie was so corny, when I got to the scene of Tom and Amanda dancing, I had to convince myself that I wasn't dreaming and this corny ball of fluff masquerading itself as legitimate film was really playing on my tv...

No one can be this cute and not be evil...

i thoughtit was cute and funny yes it was a bit cheesey but there are movies out there that are A LOT worse.

When even Kevin Smith declares that he created a disaster (Jersey Girl) on the heels of the single worst movie in recent history (the infamous 'Gigli')[both films starring Affleck & Lopez] {to be fair it has been widly accepted that the single worst film of all time is 'Plan 9 From Outer Space', but that's another story} 'Simply Irresistible' is a wonderful little digression from heavy filmaking. It is cute, cuddly, and doesn't require you to dig deep to feel the emotion of it. The films purpose is to show what a little magic (the crab, which is supposed to be Amanda's mother, btw) can help spark love that is out there but you don't know that you were looking for it!
