I have to say, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for this...

But this movie seriously gets better and better every time I see it. It's simply hilarious, and although it's different (I don't mean better or worse) than the Coen's other films, it's still a damn fine movie. Every time it has been on lately I try to make sure I catch at least a few minutes. This movie would be nothing without Clooney, whose razor sharp delivery of lines and amusing facial expressions completely made this movie work. Some great, GREAT quotable lines too...

"Freddy, are you NUTS? You're forgetting about Kershner!"
"Baby Field Greens" "What did you call me??"
"Heinz, the Baron Krauss von Espy"
"She Specificated a -SILLY- man..."
"I told him it was a no go..."
"Everybody likes berries"

I could go on and on, but I won't. I just wanted to say that I thought this movie was great, just as good as any of their other films. People seem to REALLY hate Clooney, though, no matter what he's in, which I just don't understand. He's not the amusing painter from the Facts of Life anymore, people!

Truly, anybody who does not appreciate this movie, or especially Cooney in the role (I honestly dont believe, and I rarely say this about roles, that ANYBODY ELSE ON THE PLANET could have come close to delivering like Clooney did in this particular film. His over-the-top was precisely the point, and I think that is one thing most people simply do not get.

Also, the other sadness is that there are people out there who, because they are so arrogant and stuck up arent enable to enjoy that unique type of intentional comedy where its funny because its NOT really that funny...which is the joke, in a way. I am sure quite a few know what I mean (look to many scenes in Fargo that are hilarious but is not really technically funny material - its all in the delivery).

Sorry, no animals in the discussion hall. You have to dismount your high horse to participate.

Just watched this again for the first time in a long time and it was much funnier than I previously remembered. Clooney has such fantastic comedic talent and he is ably supported by Zeta Jones (a rare impressive turn from her) and a host of others.

I wish I had done a lot of things. I wish I had... I wish I had stayed. I do.

I never thought much of George Clooney's acting skills until I saw this movie. He is amazingly funny. One of my favorite scenes in the whole movie is Clooney's expression in his boss' office when he and his assistant have to go see the old man. Every time the old man wheezes or chokes, Clooney's expression just gets funnier and funnier. And I totally believed that he was falling love in Zeta Jones. I love this movie, and Clooney is one of the best parts of it(something I honestly never thought I'd say about him:P).

I agree, this movie is quite good. The first half has some of the funniest wittiest dialogue and character actions I've seen in a movie recently. I ended up knocking it down to an 8/10 because I didn't like the murder aspect at the end, I felt that was just a bit too dark and unrealistic to make me believe they could then be together after that. Don't get me wrong, though, the murder plot was entertaining and well executed. I especially loved how it twisted the PreNup situation around yet again. I could have done with less slapstick antics regarding the dog-spray, but Weezy Joe's suicide was hilarious.)

A lot of people hate the movie, perhaps because its not of Coens' normal dark and odd quality. However, I don't think you can argue that, even if you thought the plot was poor, the script, the acting, and the directing were all top-notch and belong up there with the rest of the Coens' quality-made films.
