What an annoying soundtrack...
In the first scene the music fit, but after sometime it got just too overbearing. Halfway in I wanted to stab my already-busted eardrums, it was SOOO loud and annoying. :(

shareI thought the soundtrack was really quirky, like something you'd hear in a offbeat indie film(or just any hipster bait indie film), but for this movie, I don't know. I want to say it clashed with the seriousness and horrific themes, but something about it feels brilliant to me. You really rarely get a mix of cannibal dread and an almost cute bouncy folk-style theme. It sends mixed signals. "I don't know whether to smile or be repulsed. Maybe both, and just maybe that feels.... right!".
shareThe soundtrack made the movie for me, imho...
shareTotally love the soundtrack, made me prick up my ears and pay attention to the movie.
shareSkipped right to the end of the thread to post.
We thought the same. The only flaw in an otherwise very enjoyable and original film.
Seemed like a cross between Wes Anderson and Jared Hess.
Very out of place and in fact distracting in its confusing of the tone of a scene or the play of events.
The soundtrack is one of the best parts of this film.

I thought the music fit the movie very well: bizarre, unique, at times funny, at times menacing.
I can see why someone would find it annoying though, it isn't exactly a great, likeable, or catchy score, but still an appropriate one.
It's like Muse's Knights Of Cydonia really - good, but somewhat annoying and itchy. Someone should make a video tribute of Ravenous with that song, the lyrics and mood are pretty fitting too, heh.
🐺 Boycott movies that involve real animal violence (& their directors) 🐾
I liked the soundtrack.
